Clap Your Hands Say Yeah (sometimes abbreviated to CYHSY) is the musical project of American singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Alec Ounsworth, active since the early 2000s in and out of Philadelphia. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah have released a total of six albums. Their self-titled debut album appeared in 2005 and their most recent, '' New Fragility'', in 2021. History Early work Ounsworth first started writing songs during high school, and by 2003 was playing small gigs and pursuing various opportunities to get his music heard. Working in his basement studio in Philadelphia, he would test new material on acoustic guitar at a weekly, two-song slot at a drag performance at local venue L'Etage. Tyler Sargent
Tyler Sargent is an American bassist and former backing vocalist for the indie rock band, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. He attended college at Connecticut College along with the other members of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah prior to the group's formation. He attended high school at Milton Academy. He is also the twin brother of CYHSY keyboardist/guitarist/backing vocalist Lee Sargent. In 2008, Sargent performed on James Lavino's score to the Alex Karpovsky film ''Woodpecker.'' Architecture in Helsinki were an Australian indie pop band which consisted of Cameron Bird, Gus Franklin, Jamie Mildren, Sam Perry, and Kellie Sutherland.
