"Shock Me" is a song by American heavy metal band Kiss, which first appeared on their 1977 album ''Love Gun''. It was written by lead guitarist Ace Frehley, who made his lead vocal debut. The song was inspired by an event that took place during Kiss' ''Rock and Roll Over'' tour, when he was nearly electrocuted. It was ranked #50 in ''Guitar World'' magazine's "100 Greatest Guitar Solos Ever". Background On December 12, 1976, Kiss performed a concert at the Lakeland Civic Center in Lakeland, Florida. It is also the band's last album recorded with Ace Frehley credited as an official member and their first album with Vinnie Vincent, as the initially uncredited lead guitarist. Vincent would later be credited but not featured on the cover of the 1985 reissue of the album. It was also Kiss' last album to feature the band with their trademark makeup until the release '' Psycho Circus'' in 1998. Background By 1982, Kiss's popularity in the US had plummeted due to changing musical tastes and their near abandonment of hard rock. 1979's ''Dynasty'', while commercially successful, alienated many fans with the disco-flavored track "I ...

Firehouse (Kiss Song)
"Firehouse" is a song by American hard rock band Kiss, released in 1974 on their eponymous debut album. The track was written by the bands' rhythm guitarist and vocalist Paul Stanley. I Love It Loud
"I Love It Loud" is a song by American rock band Kiss. It was released on their 1982 album ''Creatures of the Night''. It has proven to be a staple of the band's live show, being performed on almost every tour the band has done aside from the Reunion and Psycho Circus tours. Background The track was written by bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons and guitarist Vinnie Vincent, although some versions of the album mistakenly credit Paul Stanley and Vincent. The latter had been working with songwriter Adam Mitchell when he discovered that Mitchell had connections to Kiss, and Vincent made it a point to meet Simmons through Mitchell. After meeting and exchanging phone numbers with Simmons, the two got together and wrote "I Love It Loud" in addition to another song called "Killer", which appeared on the ''Creatures'' album during the same writing session. The song fades out, only to come back even louder, and then fades out a second time. This idea was taken from the Beatles' songs " Helter ...

Detroit Rock City (song)
"Detroit Rock City" is a song by the American hard rock group Kiss, released on their 1976 album '' Destroyer''. The song was written by Paul Stanley and producer Bob Ezrin. The song is one of the band's most popular and is a classic rock staple. It is also seen as one of the more technical songs musically in the band's canon. The song has been noted for being a duet between guitarists Stanley and Ace Frehley. Composition and release The song, recorded and released as a single in 1976, was the third single from Kiss's album ''Destroyer'' and was planned to be their last in support of the album. As a single, it did poorly in sales and radio play (other than in Detroit), and failed to chart in the U.S. even though it would prove to be a fan favorite. It came as a surprise that the B-side " Beth", a ballad written and sung by drummer Peter Criss, wound up catching on in different markets in the U.S., so the single was reissued with "Beth" as the A-side and "Detroit Rock City" as t ...
