''The Three Pilots'' ( it, I tre aquilotti) is a 1942 Italian war drama film directed by Mario Mattoli and starring Michela Belmonte, Leonardo Cortese and Alberto Sordi.Brunetta p.93 It was shot at the Cinecittà Studios in Rome and at the Accademia Aeronautica in Caserta. The film's sets were designed by the art director. Mario Mattoli (; 30 November 1898 – 26 February 1980) was an Italian film director and screenwriter. He directed 86 films between 1934 and 1966. His 1939 film ''Defendant, Stand Up!'' was shown as part of a retrospective on Italian comedy at the 67th Venice International Film Festival. Galeazzo Benti
Galeazzo Benti (6 August 1923 – 21 April 1993) was an Italian actor. He appeared in more than 70 films between 1942 and 1991. Life and career Born Galeazzo Bentivoglio in Florence, Italy, a descendant of the Bentivoglio family, which ruled Bologna from 1401 until 1506 and from 1511 until 1512, he started his career as a cartoonist and a set designer. After his first roles in 1942, he had his breakout in 1943, in Sergio Tofano's ''Gian Burrasca'', in which he played a frivolous and falsely modest snob, a role he specialized during his career. After successfully alternating between cinema and revue, in the late 1950s he moved to Venezuela, where he worked in a television channel dedicated to Italian immigrants. He came back to Italy in the early 1980s, and here he reprised his acting career equally splitting between films and TV-series until his death from a heart attack in 1993. is a character created by Japanese video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto. He is the title character of the ''Mario'' franchise and the mascot of Japanese video game company Nintendo. Mario has appeared in over 200 video games since his creation. Depicted as a short, pudgy, Italian plumber who resides in the Mushroom Kingdom, his adventures generally center on rescuing Princess Peach from the Koopa villain Bowser. Leo Catozzo (10 December 1912 – 4 March 1997) was an Italian award-winning film editor. He was often credited as Leo Cattozzo. He is best known as the designer and manufacturer of the self-perforating adhesive tape film splicer known as CIR-Catozzo. Life and career Born in Adria, Province of Rovigo, the son of the musician Nino, Catozzo graduated in law, then in cello at the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory in Venice, and finally in set design and directing at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome. He entered the film industry in the early 1940s as a screenwriter and later assistant director for several Mario Mattoli's comedy films. Catozzo debuted as a film editor in 1951 for Mattoli's ''My Heart Sings'', and later worked with Alberto Lattuada, Mario Soldati and especially Federico Fellini whose films he edited during the fifties and sixties, most notably ''La Dolce Vita'' and ''8½''. Piero Carnabuci
Piero Carnabuci (6 September 1893 – 13 February 1958) was an Italian stage and film actor. Life and career Born in Santa Teresa di Riva, Messina, after the World War I Carnabuci decided to abandon his engineering studies at the University of Catania to pursue an acting career. He made his stage debut in 1920, with the company held by Luigi Chiarini and Olga Vittoria Gentilli, and almost immediately he became one of the most requested young actors in the Italian theatre of the time. Notably, between 1926 and 1928 he was first actor in the stage company of Luigi Pirandello, and between 1928 and 1929 he was first actor in the company of Sem Benelli. Carnabuci was also active in films, even if mainly cast in supporting roles. He died of coronary thrombosis in his house in Milan, aged 64, a few weeks after being struck by a severe bronchopneumonia.
