The Three Musketeers (1942 Film)
''The Three Musketeers'' (Spanish: ''Los tres mosqueteros'') is a 1942 Mexican comedy film directed by Miguel M. Delgado and starring Cantinflas. It is based on the 1844 novel of the same name by Alexandre Dumas. Plot Cantinflas and three friends return a stolen necklace to an actress who invites them to be extras at the CLASA film studios. While on the set, he falls asleep and dreams that he is d'Artagnan, fighting on behalf of Queen Anne. Milady De Winter
Milady Laurence de Winter, often referred to as simply Milady, is a fictional character in the novel ''The Three Musketeers'' (1844) by Alexandre Dumas, père, set in 1625 France. She is a spy for Cardinal Richelieu and is one of the dominant antagonists of the story. Her role in the first part of the book is to seduce the English prime minister, the duke of Buckingham, who is also the secret lover of Queen Anne of France. Hoping to blackmail the queen, Richelieu orders Milady to steal two diamonds from a set of matched studs given to Buckingham by the queen, which were a gift to her from her husband, King Louis XIII. Thwarted by d'Artagnan and the other musketeers, Milady's conflict with d'Artagnan carries much of the second half of the novel. Estanislao Shilinsky Bachanska
Estanislao Schillinsky Bachanska (10 August 1911 – 27 September 1985), known as Estanislao Shilinsky or simply Shilinsky, was a Lithuanian-born Mexican comedian and the half of the 1940–1970 comedy duo '' Manolín y Shilinsky'' with ("Manolín"). Career Estanislao Shilinsky and his brother moved to Mexico as members of a Russian circus troup. His career started in the carpa circuit when he met Grigori Ivanov who introduced him to the Carpa Valentina that he owned. In 1929 he coached Mario Moreno and helped him improve his Cantinflas character. He later married Olga Subarev, the daughter of Ivanov, while Cantinflas married her sister Valentina Ivanova who the carpa was named after. One of Shilinsky's singular characteristics as a Mexican actor was his remnant Russian accent. His sidekick Manuel Palacio Sierra eventually lost his voice and died in poverty in 1977. George Villiers, 1st Duke of Buckingham, 28 August 1592 – 23 August 1628), was an English courtier, statesman, and patron of the arts. Julio Villarreal (7 December 1885 – 4 August 1958) was a Spanish actor who later settled and worked in Mexico.
