Oscar Apfel
Oscar C. Apfel (January 17, 1878 – March 21, 1938) was an American film actor, director, screenwriter and producer. He appeared in more than 160 films between 1913 and 1939, and also directed 94 films between 1911 and 1927. Biography Apfel was born in Cleveland, Ohio. Thomas Lockyer Jefferson (September 10, 1856 – April 2, 1932) was an American film and stage actor in mostly silent films. Biography He was born to Margaret Clements Lockyer (died 1861) and actor Joseph Jefferson. The '' Burns Mantle Yearbook'' reported that he was sixth in a line of famous Jeffersons. He had leading roles in several films including ''The Grim Game'' (1919) with Harry Houdini. He also starred in two film adaptations of Rip Van Winkle as the title character, a role his father had performed on stage. He toured the U.S. performing a starring role in the play '' Lightnin'.'' Lillian Langdon (November 25, 1860 – February 8, 1943) was an American film actress of the silent era. She appeared in more than 80 films between 1912 and 1928. Born in Newark, New Jersey, Langdon was a descendant of Montgomery Pike, discoverer of Pike's Peak, and Jasper Crane, founder of Newark. She acted on stage before she began her career in films. In private life, she was known as Lillie H. Bolles. She died at her home in Santa Monica, California, aged 82. Edith Murgatroyd
Edith Yorke (born Edith Murgatroyd; 23 December 1867 – 28 July 1934) was an English actress. She appeared in more than 60 films between 1919 and 1933. Biography Yorke was born in Derby; her family later moved to Croydon, Surrey. Edith returned to Derby, where she taught destitute children in a local workhouse. She married Robert Byard and emigrated with him and their children to the United States in 1902, becoming a film actress in her 50s, mainly in supporting roles. Her daughter was a film actress also, and her son became a violinist with a symphony orchestra. Yorke died in Southgate, California, aged 66. Carter DeHaven
Carter DeHaven (born Francis O'Callaghan; October 5, 1886 – July 20, 1977) was an American film and stage actor, film director, and screenwriter. Career DeHaven started his career in vaudeville in 1896 and started acting in movies in 1915. He regularly starred in comedy shorts up until 1923. He worked for Paramount in 1920, and some of his films were directed by Charley Chase. A 1923 short ''Character Studies'' uses editing as DeHaven "transforms" himself into the spitting image of various major film stars of the era: Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd, Douglas Fairbanks, Roscoe 'Fatty' Arbuckle and 9-year-old Jackie Coogan. This was the only film in which Keaton and Lloyd appeared together and also marked Keaton's last film appearance with Arbuckle, his former partner. DeHaven went on to work with Charlie Chaplin as assistant director on '' Modern Times'' (1936) and assistant producer for ''The Great Dictator'' (1940).
