The Tenants (band)
The Tenants are an Australian pub rock band from Bathurst, New South Wales, which formed in 1998. The band won a regional final for Triple J Unearthed in 1998 with the song, "You Shit Me to Tears", which was listed at No. 3 on the Triple J Hottest 100, 1999 radio listeners' poll. Pub Rock (Australia)
Pub rock is a style of Australian rock and roll popular throughout the 1970s and 1980s, and that was still influencing contemporary Australian music in the 2000s. The term came from the venues where most of these bands originally played — inner-city and suburban pubs. These often noisy, hot, small and crowded venues were not always ideal as music venues and favoured loud, simple songs based on drums and electric guitar riffs. The Australian version of pub rock incorporates hard rock, blues rock, and/or progressive rock. Nancy Vandal
Nancy Vandal is an Australian punk rock band, which was formed in 1993 by Mike Foxall (Fox Trotsky) and Jeff Moore (JJ LaMoore). The band were named successively as Meataxe, Hard Axe to Follow and Nancy Vandal and the Popgun Assassins before settling on its shorter form. They disbanded in 2001, had a reunion performance in 2003 and reformed in 2009. History Nancy Vandal was formed by University of New South Wales, Warrane College students Foxtrotsky/Fox Trotsky (Mike Foxall) and JJ LaMoore (Jeff Moore) as a pretend band in Sydney in 1993, as neither could play an instrument. Triple J (stylised in all lowercase) is a government-funded, national Australian radio station intended to appeal to listeners of alternative music, which began broadcasting in January 1975. The station also places a greater emphasis on broadcasting Australian content compared to commercial stations. Triple J is a division of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Bass Guitar
The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. It is a plucked string instrument similar in appearance and construction to an electric or an acoustic guitar, but with a longer neck and scale length, and typically four to six strings or courses. The human voice consists of sound made by a human being using the vocal tract, including talking, singing, laughing, crying, screaming, shouting, humming or yelling. The guitar is a fretted musical instrument that typically has six strings.
