The Swedish Rheumatism Association ( sv, Reumatikerförbundet) is a non-profit organization working for people with rheumatic disorders. Rheumatism Association funds research in rheumatic diseases through Rheumatism Fund, which collects and administer gifts and donations from mainly private individuals. The Swedish Rheumatism Association has 200 local chapters, serviced by 24 regional branches. ''Rheumatism world'' is the association's own magazine in Swedish, published 6 times per year. It provides information about rheumatic diseases, coping strategies, health guides, exercise programs and news about scientific research for members of the association. Rheumatic Disorders
Rheumatism or rheumatic disorders are conditions causing chronic, often intermittent pain affecting the joints or connective tissue. Rheumatism does not designate any specific disorder, but covers at least 200 different conditions, including arthritis and "non-articular rheumatism", also known as "regional pain syndrome" or "soft tissue rheumatism". There is a close overlap between the term soft tissue disorder and rheumatism. Sometimes the term "soft tissue rheumatic disorders" is used to describe these conditions. Versus Arthritis is the UK's largest charity dedicated to supporting people with arthritis. Arthritis Australia is a charitable not-for-profit organisation advocating for people with arthritis and musculoskeletal conditions.
