''The Sunshine Makers'' is a 2015 British documentary film directed by Cosmo Feilding-Mellen, and executive produced by Omar Fayed. It is about Nicholas Sand and Tim Scully, central figures during the counterculture of the 1960s. It premiered at Doc NYC on 16 November 2015. The score was composed by London-based musical collective The Heliocentrics and released on Soundway Records in 2017. Omar Fayed ( ar, عمر الفايد; born October 1987) is an environmentalist and publisher. He is CEO of ESTEE (Earth Space Technical Ecosystem Enterprises), based in Switzerland and Britain, that advocates human space exploration, space colonization, and sustainable human development within the biosphere. He is co-founder and CEO of EarthX, a data visualization and mapping company based on NASA’s World Wind Project. Nicholas Sand (born Nicholas Francis Hiskey; May 10, 1941 – April 24, 2017) was a cult figure known in the psychedelic community for his work as a clandestine chemist from 1966 to 1996 for the Brotherhood of Eternal Love.Nocenti, Annie. Tim Scully
Robert "Tim" Scully (born August 27, 1944) is an American computer engineer, best known in the psychedelic underground for his work in the production of LSD from 1966 to 1969, for which he was indicted in 1973 and convicted in 1974. His best known product, dubbed "Orange Sunshine", was considered the standard for quality LSD in 1969. He was featured in the documentary '' The Sunshine Makers''. In eighth grade, he won honorable mention in the 1958 Bay Area Science Fair for designing and building a small computer. The Heliocentrics are an English, London-based musical collective that combines funk, jazz, psych, and library influences. The group is based around drummer and producer Malcolm Catto, bassist Jake Ferguson, guitarist Adrian Owusu, and multi-instrumentalist Jack Yglesias. Soundway Records is a British, London-based independent record label, founded and run by English DJ and music producer Miles Cleret. Since its initial release of a collection of Ghanaian music in 2002, it has released compilation albums of African, Caribbean, Latin, and Asian music from the 1950s to 1980s.
