The Strypes
The Strypes were a four-piece rock band from Cavan, Ireland, formed in 2010 consisting of Ross Farrelly (lead vocals/harmonica), Josh McClorey (lead guitar/vocals), Peter O'Hanlon (bass guitar/harmonica) and Evan Walsh (drums). The band played the local scene with various members switching parts as they searched for their sound. They drew inspiration from 1960s blues boom and 1970s pub rock bands such as Dr. Feelgood, Eddie and the Hot Rods, The Rolling Stones, The Yardbirds, Lew Lewis and Rockpile as well as the original bluesmen and rock 'n' roll artists such as Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Howlin' Wolf and Little Walter, among others. The band, with a shared love of blues and rhythm and blues music, formed in the town of Cavan, Ireland. Chuck Berry
Charles Edward Anderson Berry (October 18, 1926 – March 18, 2017) was an American singer, songwriter and guitarist who pioneered rock and roll. Spitting Image (album)
''Spitting Image'' is the third and final studio album by Irish rock band The Strypes, released on 16 June 2017. The folIow-up to the band's lukewarmly received second album, 2015's ''Little Victories'', ''Spitting Image'' was recorded In Rockfield Studios in Wales and produced by Ethan Johns throughout November 2016. The album was released on the Virgin EMI label. It was proceeded by the ''Spitting Image Demos'' E.P and the ''Almost True'' E.P (both 2017). The band embarked on a world tour in support of the album. Despite this, the album became the band's least successful, failing to reach the top 3 of the Irish charts and failing to chart at all in the U.K, France or the Netherlands. Seven months following the conclusion of the tour on 14 November 2018, the band announced their break-up on Instagram, making ''Spitting Image'' their last album as an active band. Little Victories (Strypes Album)
''Little Victories'' is the second studio album by Irish rock band the Strypes, released on 15 July 2015 by Virgin EMI Records. A Deluxe edition was released on 22 July 2015. The band's sophomore album (the follow-up to their 2013 debut album ''Snapshot''), ''Little Victories'' was recorded at Dean Street Studios in Soho, London, England from September 2014-January 2015. The band worked with former Robbie Williams producer Charlie Russell and former Kasabian producer Bradley Spence on the album. It successfully topped the Irish album charts (beating their debut, which peaked at #2), but fared slightly worse internationally. The band launched a world tour in late 2015 in support of the album, releasing the live album ''Live in Tokyo 2015'' that November. Paul Weller
Paul John Weller (born John William Weller; 25 May 1958) is an English singer-songwriter and musician. Weller achieved fame with the punk rock/ new wave/mod revival band the Jam (1972–1982). Johnny Marr
Johnny Marr (born John Martin Maher, 31 October 1963) is an English musician, songwriter and singer. Blues is a music genre and musical form which originated in the Deep South of the United States around the 1860s. Blues incorporated spirituals, work songs, field hollers, shouts, chants, and rhymed simple narrative ballads from the African-American culture.
