The Str8jackets
The Str8jackets are a London-based trio composed of Mark Robinson, Dave Longmore and Phil Fearon. The Str8jackets had their first major musical recognition courtesy of BBC Radio 1's Pete Tong who played their bootleg remix of the Black Eyed Peas' " Boom Boom Pow" and their own track "What's It All About?", supported twice on Tong's Essential Selection. The Str8jackets have worked with producers and artists including Kim English, Hoxton Whores, Bassmonkeys, Lucien Foort, Jaykay, Richie Dan, Ini Kamoze, Katherine Ellis, Inaya Day, Tyree Cooper, MC Chickaboo, and Missy Mak and have released tracks and remixes on labels including Time Records, Big in Ibiza, CR2, Peppermint Jam, and Nervous NYC. Phil Fearon
Phillip Joseph Fearon (born 30 July 1956) is a Jamaican–English record producer. He was the lead singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist for the 1980s band Galaxy. Career Fearon was born in the Colony of Jamaica in 1956 and moved to London with his parents at the age of six in 1962. After running a Sound system (Jamaican), reggae sound system, he joined Hott Wax (which evolved into Brit funk pioneers Hi-Tension after he left). In the late 1970s was a mainstay of hit group Kandidate which scored a number 11 chart hit in 1979 with "I Don't Wanna Lose You". He set up a studio in his north London house and initially recorded with the group Proton on Champagne Records. Peter Michael Tong, (born 30 July 1960) is an English disc jockey who works for BBC Radio 1. He is the host of programmes such as ''Essential Mix'' and ''Essential Selection'' on the radio service, which can be heard through Internet radio streams, for his record label FFRR Records and for his own performances at nightclubs and music festivals. Tong has also worked as a record producer and is regarded as the "global ambassador for electronic music." The ''Essential Selection'' is a radio show on Friday evenings on BBC Radio 1, originally conceived by producer Eddie Gordon and hosted by Pete Tong.
