The Steadfast Heart
''The Steadfast Heart'' is a 1923 American silent drama film directed by Sheridan Hall and produced by George Arliss (Distinctive Pictures). Based upon the novel of the same name by Clarence Budington Kelland, the film was released by Goldwyn Pictures. Plot As described in a film magazine review, while a boy, Angus Burke shoots and kills a sheriff that is about to arrest his father. His mother dies, and he is tried for murder but is acquitted. He works for the local newspaper, but prejudice forces him to leave the town. Twelve years later, he returns and takes possession of the newspaper. He exposes a plot that intended to rob the citizens and then weds his childhood sweetheart Lydia. Fort De Bois-d'Arcy
The Fort de Bois-d'Arcy, also called the Batterie de Bois-d'Arcy, is one of the forts constructed at the end of the 19th century to defend Paris. It is located in the commune of Bois d'Arcy in the Yvelines département of France. The fort is located in the southern part of the town to the south of Route nationale 12. It is now the home of the French national film archives, the Centre national de la cinématographie. History Built between 1874 and 1881, the fort was planned to reinforce the western fortifications of Paris. The southwestern forts were designed to cover the approach of a relieving army from the western portions of France. The Bois-d'Arcy fort protected the neighboring Fort de Saint-Cyr, Versailles and the Camp de Satory, covering the Trappes valley and railway lines from Le Havre and Tours. Mario Majeroni
Mario Majeroni (1870–1931) was an Italian-born American playwright and stage and film actor. Biography Majeroni came to the United States in 1906 and started acting on Broadway that year. Prior to coming to the United States he had lived and worked in Australia, where his parents had a successful dramatic company noted for one of the earliest stage adaptations of ''For the Term of His Natural Life''. In 1914 he started appearing in silent films after years of stage work. He never left the stage and alternated between Broadway and motion pictures. He appeared in films with many silent stars of the day and made his last film in 1927 appearing with Chester Conklin in Paramount's ''Rubber Heels''. Majeroni never appeared in sound films and preferred Broadway plays to talkies. He was appearing in a play when he died in New York in November 1931. He is buried in an actor's plot at Kensico Cemetery. Majeroni was related to Italian theatre royalty, his mother's aunt was the legendary ...
