The State Of Things (radio Show)
''The State of Things'' was a radio talk show produced by North Carolina Public Radio. The show aired live at 12 noon Eastern time Monday through Friday, and was rebroadcast Monday through Thursday at 8 PM. Linda Belans founded and hosted the program from 1996 - 1999, Frank Stasio hosted from June 2006 through his retirement in November 2020, and Anita Rao hosted through the show's finale in December 2020. The show concentrated on topics of interest in North Carolina. Format The program was divided into three segments spanning the show's hour-long timeslot. While segments generally focus on different topics, some shows may devote two or more segments to a single topic. Segment A This portion of the show ran for 12 minutes and typically deals with a recent news item of particular importance to the state. Frank Stasio
Frank Stasio is an American talk radio host. He hosted '' The State of Things'' on North Carolina Public Radio for many years, retiring at the end of December, 2020. North Carolina Public Radio
WUNC (91.5 MHz) is a listener-supported public radio station, serving the Research Triangle area of North Carolina. It is licensed to Chapel Hill and is operated by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Django Haskins
Djángo Haskins (born November 19, 1973) is a North American singer-songwriter. He is named after jazz musician Django Reinhardt. Originally from Florida, Haskins now resides in North Carolina where he is the frontman of pop-noir musical group The Old Ceremony. Though primarily identified as a guitarist and vocalist, Haskins also plays piano and violin. Early life and musical beginnings Haskins was born in Gainesville, Florida. His family's love for music exposed him to the likes of Cole Porter, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Motown, Gershwin, Thelonious Monk, The Replacements and Elvis Costello, familiarising him with pop music and its many forms.
