"The Sparrows and the Nightingales" is the debut single by Wolfsheim. Written by Peter Heppner and Markus Reinhardt, it was featured on their album ''No Happy View''. Although the original release did not chart, the song has been covered by several artists, with the 1999 version by Mark 'Oh versus John Davies charting in the German Media Control charts for 14 weeks, peaking at number 14. Wolfsheim single The original Wolfsheim release of the song did not chart, but was a club hit and was widely available on various compilations. Reinhardt says the lyric was inspired by ''The Great Gatsby'' by F. Scott Fitzgerald, "wegen der 'lautmalerischen Spannung' zwischen Raubtier und Geborgenheit gereizt." Wolfsheim (band)
Wolfsheim () was a synthpop duo from Hamburg, Germany, that consisted of Markus Reinhardt and Peter Heppner. Although never officially disbanded, Wolfsheim has been inactive since 2005 due to a dispute between the two members, which even led to trials in 2007 and 2008 that forbade either member to continue Wolfsheim without the other. The band's musical style takes cues from the 1980s New Romanticism and new wave, usually considered synthpop or darkwave. They are best known for their singles "The Sparrows and the Nightingales" (1991), "Once in a Lifetime" (1998) and "Kein Zurück" (2003). Their lyrics tend to be melancholic, but at the same time modernist. The Echoing Green (band)
The Echoing Green is an electronic music and synthpop band. It began as a duo between Joey Belville and Aaron Bowman in 1992, and has since released eleven major albums. History Belville, a devout Christian, created the band with a focus on faith and self-funding rather than having label. Their lyrics are infused with a strong element of faith and biblical themes. Christian artists also make occasional appearances. For instance, Riki Michele provided vocals on "Defend Your Joy", though she was uncredited for the part. A remix of the song "Oxygen" from ''Hope Springs Eternal'' appeared on the Sci-Fi Channel's show '' First Wave''. On February 21, 2011, the band announced their completion of mastering on ''In Scarlet and Vile'', which later went to release on March 11, 2011. Scream Silence is a German gothic rock/alternative rock band that was founded 1998 in Berlin. History Their first album "To Die For" was music magazine Orkus's album of the month.
