''The Source Weekly'', also known as the ''Source'', is a free weekly newspaper published in Bend, Oregon, United States. The paper is circulated throughout Central Oregon and covers news, events and culture in the area. The paper is published in print and online every Wednesday. History The paper was founded in 1997 by Aaron and Angela Switzer who still own and operate the weekly publication under their parent company, Lay It Out Inc. The paper is also a member of the Association of Alternative Newsmedia. In October 2012, Bend Bulletin reported that the ''Source Weekly'' was denied the ability to publish legal notices, since they have no paying subscribers. In October of 2018, OPB reported on the “Student Voices Project,” partially put together and supported by the paper. Alternative Weekly

The Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ), formerly known as Sigma Delta Chi, is the oldest organization representing journalists in the United States. KTVZ
KTVZ (channel 21) is a television station in Bend, Oregon, United States, serving Central Oregon as an affiliate of NBC and The CW Plus. It is owned by the News-Press & Gazette Company (NPG) alongside two low-power stations: Class A Fox affiliate KFXO-CD (channel 39) and Telemundo affiliate KQRE-LD (channel 20). The stations share studios on Northwest O. B. Riley Road in Bend, while KTVZ's transmitter is located on Awbrey Butte west of US 97. History KTVZ went on-the-air November 6, 1977. It was started by former owners Ray Johnson of KMED-AM-TV (now KTVL) in Medford and C. Howard Lane from KOIN-TV in Portland who formed Ponderosa Broadcasting, Inc. ''The Bulletin'' is the daily newspaper of Bend, Oregon, United States. ''The Bulletin'' is owned by EO Media Group, which prior to January 2013 was named the East Oregonian Publishing Company. Over the years, a number of well-known journalists have been associated with the newspaper. History Establishment To start a newspaper in Bend, a printing press and other publishing equipment items were brought overland from the railhead at Shaniko by freight wagon.
