The network was sold, along with the rest of NBC's radio operations, to Westwood One in August 1987. The Source would last until the late 1990s as a programming source before ultimately being absorbed into Westwood One. It is the world's longest-running rap periodical, being founded as a newsletter in 1988 by Jonathan Shecter. David Mays was the magazine's co-founder. ''The Source''s Five-Mic albums The Record Report is a section in the publication in which the magazine's staff rates hip-hop albums. 	NBC Radio Network The NBC, National Broadcasting Company's NBC Radio Network (known as the NBC Red Network prior to 1942) was an American commercial radio network which was in operation from 1926 through 2004. Along with the Blue Network, NBC Blue Network it was one of the first two nationwide networks established in the United States. 	Westwood One (1976–2011) Westwood One was an American radio network that was based in New York City. At one time, it was managed by CBS Radio, and was later purchased by the private equity firm, The Gores Group. 	Don Pardo Dominick George "Don" Pardo (February 22, 1918 – August 18, 2014) was an American radio and television announcer whose career spanned more than seven decades. A member of the Television Hall of Fame, Pardo was noted for his 70-year tenure with NBC, working as the announcer for early incarnations of such notable shows as ''The Price Is Right'', ''Jackpot'', ''Jeopardy!'', ''Three on a Match'', ''Winning Streak'' and ''NBC Nightly News''. His longest, and best-known, announcing job was for NBC's ''Saturday Night Live'', a job he held for 38 seasons, from the show's debut in 1975 until 1981 and then 1982 until his death in 2014.
