The Song To Her
''The Song to Her'' (Swedish: ''Sången till henne'') is a 1934 Swedish comedy film directed by Ivar Johansson and starring Martin Öhman, Sickan Carlsson and Åke Jensen.Qvist & Von Bagh p.92 It marked the film debut of Kristina Söderbaum, who went on to be a star of German cinema in the Nazi era. It was also the first screen appearance of Norwegian actress Greta Gynt who went on to star in British films. The film was made at the Råsunda Studios in Stockholm and on location around the city including at the Royal Swedish Opera. The film's sets were designed by the art director Arne Åkermark. Synopsis A famous opera singer arrives for a special performance with the Stockholm ballet, leading to several ballerinas to swoon over him. He takes a fancy to one of them, Märta Holm, and she is town between him and her fiancée Arne. Astrid Bodin (10 July 1903 – 20 October 1961) was a Swedish actress who appeared in over 120 films. Born on 10 July 1903 in Österunda, Sweden, she began her film-acting career with a small role in 1933's ''Djurgårdsnätter'', starring Erik Berglund and Anne-Marie Brunius. She appeared mostly in smaller roles, many times un-credited. Her final performance was as an unnamed woman in Börje Nyberg's ''Svenska Floyd'' (1961), which was released on her 58th birthday, 10 July 1961. Hugo Björne
Hugo Björne (4 February 1886 – 14 February 1966) was a Swedish film and theater actor. Biography Ernst Hugo Alexis Björne was born in Varberg in Halland, Sweden. He made his stage debut in 1907 and belonged to the acting company of Hjalmar Selander until 1911 when he moved to the theater company of Einar Fröberg where he worked until 1914. Charles Redland
Carl Gustaf Mauritz Nilsson, known professionally as Charles Redland (July 7, 1911 in Södertälje – August 18, 1994 in Stockholm) was a Swedish jazz saxophonist, bandleader, and composer. The son of a musician, Redland learned several instruments when he was young. In the 1930s he was a member of bands in which he played alto saxophone, clarinet, trumpet, and trombone. Nini Theilade
Nini Arlette Theilade (15 June 1915 – 13 February 2018) was a Danish ballet dancer, choreographer and teacher. Early life Theilade was born in Purwokerto, Dutch East Indies. Her mother, Joanna Catarina, was of Polish, German, and French extraction, while her father, Hans Theilade, was an engineer. In 1926, on the family's return to Denmark, she attended Asta Mollerup's ballet school in Copenhagen. After she was refused entry to the Royal Ballet's school when she was 12, her mother took her to Paris, hoping the best teachers of the time would ensure her development. Although Nini soon appeared in Carina Ari's performances in Montreux with the Opéra Comique ballet company, her mother was more ambitious.
