He has a sister named Carmela whom he woos "El Quico". As the child has a prodigious voice, her sister's boyfriend wants to take advantage of her since he wants to marry her, to which the boy refuses. Finally, meeting a blind girl named Alicia will make Joselito participate in a radio contest to be able to pay for the operation that can restore his vision. Cesáreo González Rodríguez (1903 – 1968) was a Spanish film producer. González was born in 1903 in Vigo, Spain. When he was 12, he took a boat to Cuba and worked as a salesman. He would later work in Mexico at his uncle's bakery, and return to Spain as a young adult. In 1940, he began a production company called Suevia Films. Its first release was '' Stowaway on Board'' (1941), a film starring Florian Rey, in 1941. He would go on to produce over 100 films. González chose local Spanish talent to act and perform music in his films, such as folk singer Lola Flores, actress María Félix, comedian Pepe Iglesias, and child prodigy Joselito. He would later produce under the name Cesáreo González Producciones Cinematográficas. He died in Madrid in 1968. Musical film is a film genre in which songs by the characters are interwoven into the narrative, sometimes accompanied by dancing. Suevia Films
Suevia Films was a Spanish film production and distribution company, founded in 1940 by entrepreneur Cesáreo González with his brother Arturo Gonzalez. During the 1940s–1960s they were one of Spain biggest studios and were responsible for more than 130 films, averaging five per year. Beginning in 1951 with the dancer Lola Flores, who was hired for five films at a cost of 6 million pesetas, Suevia signed many of Spain's leading actors to exclusive contracts. These included Francisco Rabal, Fernando Rey, Carmen Sánchez, Ángel de Andrés, Rafael Durán, Antonio Casal, Amparo Rivelles, Conrado San Martín Sara Montiel, Carmen Sevilla, Paquita Rico, Joselito and Marisol.
