''The Smiley Morning Show'' is a morning radio program on radio station WZPL (99.5 FM - a Cumulus Media station) broadcasting from Indianapolis, Indiana. The show first aired in 2002 and is hosted by radio personality Dave Smiley and co-hosts Nikki Reed, Toni Williams, and Producer Will. The show is a talk/entertainment morning show that includes significant interaction with listeners. Each morning features Dave Smiley making various comments about the upcoming day, and features guest interviews with local Indiana celebrities, actors, comedians and musicians. WZPL
WZPL (99.5 FM) is a radio station licensed to Greenfield, Indiana, and serving the Indianapolis metropolitan area. The station airs a Top 40 (CHR) format. WZPL is owned by Cumulus Media. Its studios are located on North Shadeland Avenue on the city's east side, with its transmitter north of the Indianapolis World Sports Park on the east side of Indianapolis. History The station signed on as WSMJ on June 1, 1962 and remained as such until the spring of 1979 when WSMJ was sold to Heftel Broadcasting. They changed to a disco music format and adopted the call sign WIKS-FM, "Rock Kiss 99 FM", on April 14, 1979. Later, a contemporary hit radio format was adopted which, aside from a brief experiment playing classic rock in 1989, has continued to this day. KWDM, "88.7 KWDM The Point," is a modern rock high school radio station serving the Des Moines, Iowa area on 88.7 FM. The radio station's studio is located at Valley High School in West Des Moines. It is owned and operated by the West Des Moines Community School District and is operated by students at Valley under the direction of a staff advisor. History On October 1, 1976, the West Des Moines Community School District signed KWDM on the air at 88.9 MHz. The KWDM call letters had previously been used on two commercial stations in Des Moines, 1150 AM (now KWKY) and 93.3 FM (now KIOA), under the ownership of George Webber. In 1994, KWDM's frequency was migrated from 88.9 FM to 88.7 FM and its power increased from 10 watts ERP to 100 watts. WXNT (1430 AM) is a commercial radio station in Indianapolis, Indiana. The station is owned by Cumulus Media, and carries an all-sports radio format, as an affiliate of the CBS Sports Radio Network.
