The Shining Star () is family drama produced by Mediacorp TV Channel 8. The drama made its debut on 6 March 2006 in Singapore, and ended its run on 31 March 2006. It stars Pierre Png , Dawn Yeoh & Hong Huifang as the casts of the series. It encores it's telecast from Monday to Wednesday at 3.30pm in 2018 and on weekends at 7.30am from Feb - Mar 2021. This show was ranked at 7th position for Year 2006 in terms of viewership ratings and was awarded ''Best Drama Serial'' of the year. Synopsis A-Li is a very pretty young girl. Pierre Png
Pierre Png Tiang Huat (; born 29 October 1973), is a Singaporean actor. He is known for starring in multiple Singaporean MediaCorp's Channel 5 and Channel 8's dramas which include '' The Gentlemen'' and ''When Duty Calls''. Early in his career, he was known for playing the comedic role of Phua Chu Beng in the long-running sitcom ''Phua Chu Kang Pte Ltd''. He is also known for his role as a troubled and unhappy husband in the 2008 year-end blockbuster period drama ''The Little Nyonya'', and as a villain in 2013 drama '' The Journey: A Voyage''. In 2018, he appeared in the Hollywood film ''Crazy Rich Asians''. Kelvin Tan Wei Lian
Kelvin Tan Wei Lian (陈伟联, born 5 October 1981) is a Singaporean former Mandopop singer who earned a living as a busker before he won the first edition of Project SuperStar in 2005. He has released three albums, All I Want Is... (2006), i-Weilian (2007) and Moving Notes...Kelvin Tan (2009). He also had a solo concert at the Singapore Expo, lead a choir at the opening ceremony at the 2008 Summer Paralympics and singing Singapore's 2009 National Day Parade's theme song. Metamorphosis ( "Breaking Out Of The Shell" in Chinese) is a Singaporean Chinese action thriller drama which is being telecast on Singapore's free-to-air channel, MediaCorp TV Channel 8. It made its debut on 18 September 2007, screening at 9 PM every night on weekdays. The serial consists of 20 episodes. In the last few episodes, the serial recorded a viewership rate of over 1 million and was awarded the "Best Drama Series Award" in the Star Awards 2007. Star Awards 2005 was the 12th Star Awards ceremony, held on 4 December 2005. It was part of the annual Star Awards organised by MediaCorp for MediaCorp TV Channel 8. Following MediaCorp's merger with SPH MediaWorks on 1 January 2005, the nominees included artistes from the former SPH MediaWorks Channel U, many of whom were former employees of MediaCorp and its predecessor Television Corporation of Singapore. MediaCorp TV Channel 8 broadcast the awards ceremony from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm while SPH MediaWorks Channel U (now MediaCorp TV Channel U), aired the ceremony for the first time and began broadcasting the ceremony at 7:30 pm.
