Saving Abel
Saving Abel is an American rock band from Corinth, Mississippi, founded in 2004 by Jared Weeks and Jason Null. The band is named after the biblical story of Cain and Abel, in which a man named Cain kills his brother Abel. Band member Jason Null thought up the band title saying "I Googled the story of Cain and Abel and found a line about 'there was no saving Abel,' which just jumped out at me." Lead singer Jared Weeks left the band at the end of 2013 to pursue a solo career, but returned in 2021, replacing Scott Austin. History Lead singer Jared Weeks and lead guitarist Jason Null began forming Saving Abel in the small town of Corinth, Mississippi in 2004. ''Miss America'' is the second studio album by American rock band Saving Abel, released on June 8, 2010. The album title comes from the song of the same name, with lead singer Jared Weeks explaining the choice as the band wanting "to give something back" to the American soldiers who serve overseas. The first single from the album, " Stupid Girl (Only In Hollywood)" was released as a digital single on April 8, 2010 and released to radio on April 26, 2010. It contains the use of Auto-Tune. The album debuted at No. 24 on the ''Billboard'' 200, making it their best-charting album to date. This was their final release on Virgin Records before moving to eOne Music. Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Virgin Records is a record label owned by Universal Music Group. Skidd Mills
Skidd Mills is a songwriter/producer based in Nashville, Tennessee. Skidd began his career at Ardent Studios in 1991. There he learned from the likes of John Hampton, Joe Hardy, Jim Dickinson, and Paul Ebersold. In 2001, Skidd left Ardent and started 747 Studios with fellow producer Paul Ebersold. It was there that Skiddco Music was started. In 2009, Skidd moved his operation to Nashville, where he has studios in Nolensville and on Music Row. Skidd has spent his career as a songwriter, producer, mixer, and engineer in rock, country, pop, blues and Christian music. In 2006, Skidd started Skiddco Music LLC. The production company's first signing was Mississippi rock act Saving Abel. After developing and writing with the band, Skiddco Music teamed up with Virgin Records and released their first self-titled CD.
