The album was released in August 1995 and debuted and peaked at number 5 on the ARIA charts and was certified gold. Reviews Jonathan Lewis of AllMusic gave the album 4 out 5 saying; "It's no coincidence that The Screaming Jets chose to self-title their third album. For ''The Screaming Jets'', the band changed their approach somewhat, introducing more thoughtful lyrics and toning down the metal aspect of their music. The change is a good one, and this is a much more mature effort from the band. As a group they are tighter than ever and the quality of their songwriting has improved noticeably from their two previous outings. But changing a successful formula, regardless of how good a change it is, is always going to alienate fans. The Screaming Jets
The Screaming Jets are an Australian hard rock band formed in Newcastle, Australia, in 1989 by frontman Dave Gleeson (vocals), Paul Woseen (bass guitar), Grant Walmsley (guitar)Richard Lara(guitar), and Brad Heaney (drums). The band has three albums that peaked in the top five on the Australian ARIA Charts: '' All for One'' (1991), '' Tear of Thought'' (1992), and ''The Screaming Jets'' (1995). Their 1991 single " Better" reached No. 4 on the related singles chart. Walmsley left in 2007 and formed his own band. In 2013, bassist Paul Woseen released an acoustic solo album, ''Bombido''. Pub Rock (Australia)
Pub rock is a style of Australian rock and roll popular throughout the 1970s and 1980s, and that was still influencing contemporary Australian music in the 2000s. The term came from the venues where most of these bands originally played — inner-city and suburban pubs. These often noisy, hot, small and crowded venues were not always ideal as music venues and favoured loud, simple songs based on drums and electric guitar riffs. rooArt was an Australian independent record label, founded in 1988 by INXS's then-manager, Chris Murphy. The label's roster included several well-known Australian bands and artists such as Crow, Ratcat, Screaming Jets, You Am I, Wendy Matthews, The Hummingbirds, The Trilobites and Amanda Brown. Other bands which made early or first releases on the rooArt label included Hipslingers, The Last Metro, The Lab, The Fauves, Bellicose and Custard. rooArt released a series of three compilation albums of new or then-unsigned acts, called ''Youngblood''. David Sean "Gleeso" Gleeson (born 3 June 1968) is the lead singer of Australian hard rock group The Screaming Jets. He was born in Newcastle, New South Wales and currently resides in Adelaide Hills, South Australia Biography David Sean Gleeson, Note: User may have to click 'Search again' and provide details at 'Enter a title:' e.g Body Bag; or at 'Performer:' Screaming Jets was born in 1968 and grew up in Newcastle.
