Hobart Henley
Hobart Henley (born Hess Manassah Henle; November 23, 1887 – May 22, 1964) was an American silent film actor, Film director, director, screenwriter and producer. He was involved in over 60 films either as an actor or director or both in his twenty-year career, between 1914 and 1934 when he retired from filmmaking. Early life Henley was born Hess Manassah Henle in Louisville, Kentucky, to Samuel Henle, a German immigrant and retailer, and his wife Clementine. His father moved the family to Cincinnati, Ohio, where Henley later attended and graduated from the University of Cincinnati. Career Henley began his career as a stage actor, then moved to acting in silent films. He began dual duties of directing and acting in such films as ''The Gay Old Dog'' for Pathé in 1919. Edward Jobson (February 29, 1860 – February 7, 1925) was an American actor of stage and silent film. He started in silent films in his fifties. He had a sour yet sad bulldog demeanor and can be spotted in several surviving silent films. In ''The Delicious Little Devil'' (1919) he plays Rudolph Valentino's father, though the two actors looked nothing alike. Fred Kohler
Fred Kohler (April 20, 1888 – October 28, 1938) was an American actor. Career Fred Kohler was born in Kansas City, Missouri or in Dubuque, Iowa. As a teen, he began to pursue a career in vaudeville, but worked other jobs to support himself. He lost part of his right hand in a mining accident during this time. Eventually he was able to join a touring company, and worked steadily in show business for several years. His son Fred Kohler Jr. also became an actor. America's budding film industry drew a 20-something Kohler to Hollywood, where he made his start in silent films. His first role was in the 1911 short ''The Code of Honor'', and he had an uncredited role in Cecil B. DeMille's feature film ''Joan the Woman'' (1917), but a steady stream of parts did not begin until ''The Tiger's Trail'' (1919). Kohler's stern features earned him a niche playing villains.
