Alan Hale Sr
Alan Hale Sr. (born Rufus Edward Mackahan; February 10, 1892 – January 22, 1950) was an American actor and director. He is best remembered for his many character roles, in particular as a frequent sidekick of Errol Flynn, as well as films supporting Lon Chaney, Wallace Beery, Douglas Fairbanks, James Cagney, Clark Gable, Cary Grant, Humphrey Bogart, and Ronald Reagan. Hale was usually billed as Alan Hale and his career in film lasted 40 years. Eulalie Jensen (December 24, 1884 – October 7, 1952) was an American actress on the New York stage and in silent films. Biography Born in St. Louis, Missouri, she was selected as one of six extra girls from the 200 applicants responding to a New York newspaper ad inserted by Sarah Bernhardt. The famed actress was making a visit to New York City. At this time, Miss Jensen was completely unknown, but this was the beginning of her film career. A number of years of stage experience enabled Jensen to become a fine ''emotional actress''. Her stage engagements included a role in ''The Million'' at the 39th St. Theatre. This was a four-act farce by M. M. Ber and Guille Ward. The show was also featured in New Haven, Connecticut at the Hyperion Theatre. Both productions were in 1911. Eugenia Gilbert (November 18, 1902 – December 9, 1978) was an American film actress of the silent era. She appeared as a leading lady in a number of westerns. In at least three films, she was billed as Eugenie Gilbert. Biography Gilbert was the daughter of W.B. and Eugenia Gilbert. She attended schools in South Orange, New Jersey, and New York City and the Marlborough School in Los Angeles. She won 14 beauty contests, one of which was a national contest sponsored by Rudolph Valentino, which led him to consider her "the most beautiful girl in America." In 1924, Gilbert had her first role as leading lady in a film, after having smaller parts in westerns and comedies. In 1925, she signed a contract with Mack Sennett to act exclusively in his comedy films "for the next several years."
