The Rushing Tide
''The Rushing Tide'' is a 1927 Australian silent film about the search for a hoard of diamonds. Plot Harold Wilson inherits a map showing the location of a hoard of diamonds. He sets out to find them with Howard Morrison and his wife. Howard steals the diamonds, kills Jeffries, abducts Ruth, and puts Harold and his wife in an open boat out to sea. Mrs Morrison dies, but Harold is rescued. He tracks down Ruth, saves her from Howard – who has discovered the diamonds are worthless – and marries Ruth. ''The Western Mail'', or ''Western Mail'', was the name of two weekly newspapers published in Perth, Western Australia. Portsea is a seaside town on the Mornington Peninsula in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, approximately south-west of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the Shire of Mornington Peninsula local government area. Tasman Higgins (8 April 1888 – 4 June 1953) was an Australian cinematographer during the early days of the Australian film industry, working for such directors as Charles Chauvel, Raymond Longford, Beaumont Smith, Louise Lovely and Rupert Kathner.
