The Royal Wind Music
The Royal Wind Music is a Dutch recorder consort. Founded by Paul Leenhouts in 1997, The Royal Wind Music is a consort of thirteen former students of the Amsterdam Conservatoire. They use a large range of Renaissance recorders by Adriana Breukink and Bob Marvin, from a 15 cm sopranino to a sub-contrabass. They have performed throughout Europe and the United States, including the Boston Early Music Festival. Since 2010, they have performed without a conductor. With the goal of bringing Renaissance music to life, they perform arrangements of music originally composed for other instruments from the period 1520-1640 and have become one of the leading examples of the recorder orchestra movement. Lindoro
''Gli Innamorati'' (, meaning "The Lovers") were stock characters within the theatre style known as commedia dell'arte, who appeared in 16th century Italy. In the plays, everything revolved around the Lovers in some regard. Sub-contrabass Recorder
The sub-contrabass recorder is a member of the recorder family with a low note of FF (or F1 in SPN). It is manufactured in a design with a square or rectangular cross-section, which was first patented in 1975 by Joachim and Herbert Paetzold. Noorderkerk
The Noorderkerk ("northern church") is a 17th-century Protestant church in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. A number of other towns in the Netherlands also have a Noorderkerk church, including The Hague, Hoorn and Kampen. History The church was built in the years 1620–1623 to serve the rapidly growing population of the new Jordaan neighbourhood.Rijksmonument report The Jordaan already had a church, the Westerkerk, but the city government decided that a second church should be built to serve the northern part of the neighbourhood. The Boston Early Music Festival (BEMF) is a non-profit organization founded in 1980 in Boston, Massachusetts, U.S. to promote historical music performance. Sopranino Recorder
The sopranino recorder is the second smallest recorder of the modern recorder family, and was the smallest before the 17th century. This modern instrument has F5 as its lowest note, and its length is 20 cm. It is almost always made from soft European or tropical hardwoods, though sometimes it is also made of plastic. Historically there were several sizes of recorder in this register, named differently in different periods and in different languages. In his ''Syntagma Musicum'' (1619), Michael Praetorius describes this size of recorder, only a whole tone higher, with G5 as its lowest pitch. Erik Bosgraaf
Erik Bosgraaf (born 9 May 1980) is a Dutch recorder player and musicologist. Early life Bosgraaf was born in Drachten, Netherlands. He received his Master of Arts in musicology from Utrecht University in 2006. In 2007 Bosgraaf, under the supervision of musicologist Thiemo Wind, released a 3-CD-box with compositions of the Dutch composer Jacob van Eyck (1589–1657), a collection which attained unexpected commercial success and sold more than 25,000 copies.
