The Royal Gazette (Bermuda)
''The Royal Gazette'' is a Bermudian, English-language daily newspaper. Founded in 1828, it is Bermuda's only daily newspaper (not published on Sundays and public holidays). History The first issues of The Royal Gazette, Bermuda Commercial and General Advertiser and Recorder were published in January 1828. The company bore no relation to an earlier publication named the Bermuda Gazette and Weekly Advertiser founded by Joseph Stockdale in 1782 nor an earlier Royal Gazette founded by Mr Edmund Ward in 1809. Its founder Donald MacPhee Lee, an immigrant to Bermuda from Prince Edward Island in Canada, served as editor until his death in 1883, whereupon it was operated by his son and later his daughter. Part commercial printer and part newspaper, the company acquired its Royal title serving as the 'King's Printer' in Bermuda and as publisher of official notices. ''The Royal Gazette'' was a Jamaican newspaper. It was founded in 1779 as ''The Jamaica Mercury, and Kingston Weekly Advertiser'' by David Douglass and William Aikman and became ''The Royal Gazette'' in 1780 after it obtained government patronage.Alexander Aikman senior.

James Rivington
James Rivington (1724 – July 4, 1802) was an English-born American journalist who published a Loyalist newspaper in the American colonies called ''Rivington's Gazette''. He was driven out of New York by the Sons of Liberty, but was very likely a member of the American Culper Spy Ring, which provided the Continental Army with military intelligence from British-occupied New York. Early life James Rivington was born in London in 1724. One of the sons of the bookseller and publisher Charles Rivington, he inherited a share of his father's business, which he lost at the Newmarket races. In 1760, he sailed to North America. John Ryan (printer)
John Ryan (7 October 1761 – 30 September 1847) was a loyalist printer. Sometime between 1776 and 1780 he became an apprentice to John Howe, in Newport, Rhode Island. John Ryan married Amelia Mott on 22 November 1781 in New York City. He remained in New York until 1783, becoming a partner with William Lewis in the ''New-York Mercury and General Advertiser''.
