The Rose For Italy
The Rose for Italy (''La Rosa per l'Italia''), also known as White Rose (''Rosa Bianca'') and Popular Civic Federative Movement (''Movimento Federativo Civico Popolare''), was a Christian democracy, Christian-democratic List of political parties in Italy, political party in Italy. History On 30 January 2008, Bruno Tabacci and Mario Baccini announced that they were leaving the Union of Christian and Centre Democrats (UDC) in order to form a new centrist party. On 8 February the White Rose was officially launched. The party emerged right after the fall of Prodi II Cabinet. Tabacci and Baccini wanted to support the formation of a government led by Franco Marini, which would approve a new electoral law on the German model. UDC leader Pier Ferdinando Casini opted for fresh elections instead, in line with the other leader of the centre-right House of Freedoms coalition. Gerardo Bianco
Gerardo Bianco (12 September 1931 – 1 December 2022) was an Italian politician. Early life Bianco was born in Guardia Lombardi, Campania in Italy. Winner of a scholarship at the Augustinianum College of Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, he graduated in classical letters. Career Bianco has been Deputy from 1968 to 1994 and from 2001 to 2008, chairman of Christian Democracy (''Democrazia Cristiana''; DC) in the Chamber from 1979 to 1983 and from 1992 to 1994, Vice-President of Chamber of Deputies from 1987 to 1990 and MEP from 1994 to 1999. He also served as Minister of Education in the Andreotti VI Cabinet. In 1995 he opposed the Secretary of the Italian People's Party (PPI), Rocco Buttiglione, for his approach to the centre-right during the regional elections that year. 2008 Italian General Election
A snap election was held in Italy on 13–14 April 2008. The election came after President Giorgio Napolitano dissolved the Italian Parliament on 6 February 2008, following the defeat of the government of Prime Minister Romano Prodi in a January 2008 Senate vote of confidence and the unsuccessful tentative appointment of Franco Marini with the aim to change the current electoral law. Under Italian law, elections must be held within 70 days of the dissolution. The voting determined the leader of Italy's 62nd government since the end of World War II. Antonio Di Pietro (; born 2 October 1950) is an Italian politician, lawyer and magistrate. He was a minister in government of Romano Prodi, a Senator, and a Member of the European Parliament. Giovanni "Gianni" Rivera (; born 18 August 1943) is an Italian politician and former footballer who played as a midfielder. During his career as a footballer he was mostly utilised as an attacking midfielder.
