The Romance Of Crime
''The Romance of Crime'' is an original novel written by Gareth Roberts and based on the long-running British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. It features the Fourth Doctor, Romana II and K-9. It takes place directly before the Missing Adventure ''The English Way of Death'', also by Roberts. The title is a quotation from the Morrissey song " Sister I'm a Poet". Plot The TARDIS brings the Doctor, Romana and K-9 to the Rock of Judgement: a supreme prison built into a rocket-powered asteroid. Gareth Roberts (writer)
Gareth John Pritchard Roberts (born 5 June 1968) is a British television screenwriter and novelist, best known for his work related to the science-fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. He has also worked on various comedy series and soap operas. Early life Roberts studied drama at King Alfred's College (now the University of Winchester) and Liverpool Polytechnic (now Liverpool John Moores University). He has also worked as a clerk at the Court of Appeal. Career Roberts has worked on some of the most popular British soap operas, including Channel 4's now-defunct ''Brookside'' as a scriptwriter (1999–2003), and as a story associate on ITV's ''Coronation Street'' in 1997. John Leeson
John Francis Christopher Ducker (born 16 March 1943), known professionally as John Leeson, is an English actor, voice artist and freelance wine educator. He is known for portraying Bungle in ''Rainbow'' and voicing K9 in ''Doctor Who'' and spin-off ''The Sarah Jane Adventures''. Sarah Jill "Lalla" Ward (born 28 June 1951) is an English actress, voice artist and author. She is best known for playing the role of Romana II in the BBC television series ''Doctor Who'' from 1979 to 1981. "Sister I'm a Poet" is a song by Morrissey, first released as a B-side to "Everyday Is Like Sunday". The lyric and title have been interpreted as a homage to Tennessee Williams' ''The Glass Menagerie''. ''The Ghosts of N-Space'' is a radio drama based on the long-running British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. It was recorded in 1994 and finally broadcast in six parts on BBC Radio 2 from 20 January to 24 February 1996. This was the second Third Doctor radio play, following ''The Paradise of Death'' in 1993. Plans for subsequent serials were abandoned after the death of Jon Pertwee in May 1996.
