''The Road Home'' () is a 2000 Chinese romantic drama film directed by Zhang Yimou. It also marked the cinematic debut of the Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi. ''The Road Home'' was written by author Bao Shi, who adapted the screenplay from his novel, ''Remembrance''. The film was shot immediately after Zhang Yimou's previous film, ''Not One Less'', and was released to strong reviews in China in fall 1999. Plot ''The Road Home'' is the story of a country girl and a young teacher falling in love, and the teacher's death many years later that brings their son back from the big city for the funeral. The film begins in black and white in present-day China when the son (Sun Honglei) returns to his village from the city upon hearing of his father's death. ''The Road Home'' is a 2007 novel by Rose Tremain. Plot summary The story concerns Lev, a middle-aged immigrant who was recently widowed. He leaves his home, Auror, a village in an unspecified eastern European country, after the sawmill he works at closes down. Soon after, he travels to London to find work so he can make money to send to his mother, his 5-year-old daughter, Maya, and his best friend. He finds his first job at a Muslim kebab-shop, before washing dishes at a five-star restaurant named GK Ashe. Along the way, Lev meets a translator from his home country named Lydia, a divorced Irish plumber named Christy, a young chef named Sophie, and a rich old woman named Ruby. ''The Road Home'', a live album released in 1995, is the fourteenth album overall by the rock group Heart. It chronicles a club performance in the "unplugged" style – but with strings – in their home city of Seattle. The setlist contains acoustic versions of many of the band's hits including " Alone", "Barracuda", and "Dreamboat Annie". The album was produced by John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin, a band to whom Ann and Nancy Wilson paid tribute with their band the Lovemongers. "He was a prince among men," enthused Ann. Road Home is a program funded by the U.S. government which has provided federal grant money to help Louisiana residents rebuild or sell houses severely damaged by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. This federally funded program is administered by the State of Louisiana. Background According to the Road Home website, as of December 2017, the program had disbursed a total of $9.022 billion in awards to 130,052 individual homeowners in the area, with grants averaging $69,379 each. These are cash grants, not low interest loans, and are received income tax free. They are on top of insurance awards, private or federal, which may have already been received. Additionally, the program has been extended to provide cash grants to facilitate the elevation of homes in flood prone areas. ''The Road Back Home'' is the second compilation album by the Swedish progressive rock band The Flower Kings. It is a double album with some of the group's shorter and more straightforward songs, rather than their usual long/complex epic songs. All of the songs have been remastered and most have been remixed.
