Chris Shepherd (born 11 December 1967) is a double BAFTA nominated television/film writer and director. Born in Anfield, Liverpool, Lancashire, in 1967. He is mainly known for combining live action with animation. His work fuses comedy with commentary on the darker side of human nature. Early years Shepherd's first animation was made in 1989 and it was called ''Safari''. He wanted to make a drama but didn't know any actors, so he made his cast out of plasticine. Using this film he won a place at University for the Creative Arts, Farnham. His first job in the industry was as production manager at Speedy Films which was the creative vehicle for director Paul Vester. His writing and commissioned directorial debut came in 1997 with a Channel 4 film called '' The Broken Jaw''. This animated comedy illustrated the plight of a public house after it has been transformed into a fun pub. The Ringer is a sports and pop culture website and podcast network, founded by sportswriter Bill Simmons in 2016 and owned by Spotify since 2020. History The Ringer was launched in March 2016 by Bill Simmons, who brought along several editors who had previously worked with him on ''Grantland'', an ESPN-owned blog he operated from 2011 to 2015. At launch, the Ringer had a staff of 43 and focused primarily on sports and pop culture as content areas, with a few writers also working on technology and politics. ''The Ringer'' is an album by American jazz trumpeter-composer Charles Tolliver and his quartet Music Inc., recorded in 1969 and released the following year by the British label Polydor Records. The album's US release followed in 1975. Recording and release ''The Ringer'' was the first album Tolliver recorded with his quartet Music Inc., formed with pianist Stanley Cowell. They recorded the songs in a session for Polydor Records on June 2, 1969, at the record label's studio in London. The recording was produced by Alan Bates, Polydor's record producer and A&R executive. The label released the album in the UK the following year. Bates' own label Freedom Records later released ''The Ringer'' in Europe and Japan, while Arista Records distributed it in the US in 1975. The Ringers
The Ringers were a Los Angeles–based rock band formed in 2006. They broke up in 2010. Band members were Joe Hursley (vocals, guitar), Joe Robinson (lead guitar), Joe Stiteler (bass), and Patrick Hursley (drums). They released their second full-length album ''Headlocks and Highkicks'' in August 2008, with Dave Cobb producing. Their first album, "''Tokyo Massage III''", was released on November 10, 2006. Joe Hursley, also appeared as Maurice in the comedy film ''Accepted''. In the film, the band performed the songKeepin' Your Head Up from Tokyo Massage. The Ringers were one of the only unsigned bands to appear on the ''Accepted'' film soundtrack. In April 2008, Joe Hursley played the coiffed, milk powered, faux rock God 'White Gold'. Richard Horatio Edgar Wallace (1 April 1875 – 10 February 1932) was a British writer. Born into poverty as an illegitimate London child, Wallace left school at the age of 12. He joined the army at age 21 and was a war correspondent during the Second Boer War for Reuters and the '' Daily Mail''. Struggling with debt, he left South Africa, returned to London and began writing thrillers to raise income, publishing books including '' The Four Just Men'' (1905).
