The Reigning Monarchs
The Reigning Monarchs are an American surf punk band from North Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, United States, formed in 2007 by guitarists Greg Behrendt and USA Mike Eisenstein. The current line-up includes bassist David Hawkins and drummer Blair Sinta. All songs are written and produced by Behrendt and Eisenstein, and The Monarchs have released a full-length LP and a split EP with Laramie Dean (also produced by Eisenstein). On September 24, 2013, the band released their second album, ''Black Sweater Massacre'', which was funded through a campaign on the crowd-sourcing website Indiegogo. Their music is frequently used on Walking the Room, Behrendt’s podcast with Dave Anthony, and the band performs live at the show's "Starfish Circus" events. The Monarchs also play gigs independently throughout Southern California. Surf Rock
Surf music (or surf rock, surf pop, or surf guitar) is a Music genre, genre of rock music associated with surf culture, particularly as found in Southern California. It was especially popular from 1958 to 1964 in two major forms. The first is instrumental surf, distinguished by reverb-heavy electric guitars played to evoke the sound of crashing waves, largely pioneered by Dick Dale and the Del-Tones. The second is vocal surf, which took elements of the original surf sound and added vocal harmonies, a movement led by the Beach Boys. Dick Dale developed the surf sound from instrumental rock, where he added Middle Eastern music, Middle Eastern and Mexican music, Mexican influences, a spring reverb, and rapid alternate guitar picking, picking characteristics. Rockabilly
Rockabilly is one of the earliest styles of rock and roll music. It dates back to the early 1950s in the United States, especially the Southern United States, South. As a genre it blends the sound of Western music (North America), Western musical styles such as country music, country with that of rhythm and blues, leading to what is considered "classic" rock and roll. Greg Behrendt
Gregory Behrendt (born July 21, 1963) is an American comedian and author. His work as a script consultant to the HBO sitcom ''Sex and the City'' paved the way for co-authoring of the ''New York Times'' bestseller '' He's Just Not That Into You'' (2004), later adapted into a film by the same name. Apart from that he also hosted two short-lived television shows, ''The Greg Behrendt Show'' (2006) and '' Greg Behrendt's Wake Up Call'' (2009). Walking The Room
''Walking the Room'' was a comedy podcast hosted by American comedians Greg Behrendt and Dave Anthony. The free, hour-long weekly show debuted via web and iTunes on May 24, 2010, and was recorded in Behrendt's closet in Los Angeles, California. Each episode was broken into three segments that typically involve rants and banter between the hosts, but occasional guests have included Patton Oswalt, Karen Kilgariff, Brian Posehn, Jimmy Pardo, Jonah Ray, Brendon Walsh, Jen Kirkman and TOFOP hosts Wil Anderson and Charlie Clausen. Anthony produced and edited the show. David Sean Anthony (born August 26, 1967) is an American comedian, actor, screenwriter, and podcaster. He is best known as the creator and co-host of the comedy podcast ''The Dollop'', in which he tells notable stories from American history to his friend and fellow comedian Gareth Reynolds, who has not heard the story before. Laramie Dean
Laramie Dean (born January 12, 1971) is an American guitarist. Biography Dean was born in Troy, New York, and grew up on the Hudson River. In 1995 he moved to Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Dean began playing at the Elvis Room, and recording with Jim Tierny, as well as Joe King a.k.a. Joe Queer of New Hampshire pop punk band The Queers. At his first show at the Elvis Room, Dean met Tamara Collins. Collins gave Dean extensive airplay on her punk rock radio show "No Rules" which aired on New Hampshire's college radio station 91.3 WUNH. In 1999, Dean released his first 7-inch EP titled ''"Listen to Laramie Dean ...you can almost smell the rubber burn!"''
