The Regent (City Creek)
''The Regent (City Creek)'' is a gold LEED certified, 23-storey, 150-unit residential skyscraper located in the City Creek Center, on 35 East 100 South, Salt Lake City, Utah. The building was the fifth residential skyscraper in the City Creek development and was designed by Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Partnership in a modernist style. The building was completed on September 11, 2011. History The Regent was officially planned on 3 October 2006 as part of a major redevelopment of two blocks in the center of Salt Lake City, which would become the City Creek Center. The original name was Tower 5 as it was the 5th residential skyscraper planned in the redevelopment. Despite being designed and planned at the same time as the entire City Creek Center, The Regent is the only residential building built in a modernist style. Richard Court (building)
Richard Court is an 11-story 90-unit residential court split into 2 separate buildings around the Richard Court. Richard court is a small court that leads straight into the City Creek Center. Richard Court is located opposite from the Salt Lake Temple and consists of brick facade, retail outlets on the ground floor and underground parking. History The 11-storey building was planned with the City Creek Center and was one of the first building in the redevelopment to be constructed. Richard court was designed to channel pedestrian traffic from temple square to the City Creek Center with the two residential buildings on each side. Design The residential buildings were designed by FFKR Architects and ZGF Architects who also designed other parts of the City Creek Center including The Regent and 99 West on South Temple (99 West). City Creek (Utah)
City Creek is a small but historically important mountain stream that flows from City Creek Canyon and across part of Salt Lake City, Utah, and into the Jordan River which empties into the Great Salt Lake. City Creek's head is about 8 miles (13 km) up City Creek Canyon northeast of Downtown Salt Lake City. The entire stream measures only about 14.5 miles (23 km) long. 99 West on South Temple (99 West) is a residential condominium tower in the City Creek development in Downtown Salt Lake City, Utah, United States, that was originally or formerly known as Promontory on South Temple, Promontory Tower, and The Promontory, and Tower One. The building rises tall, making it the fifth-tallest building in Salt Lake City, and contains 30 floors. Construction was completed before the official grand opening of the City Creek shopping center. The tower contains 185 individually-owned residential units. History 99 West was the eventual name given to the 30 story skyscraper but the residential tower was never actually given an official name. The residential skyscraper was planned with the City Creek Center however, 99 West was only going to be constructed when the majority of units had sold in other planned residential blocks. The Oquirrh Mountains is a mountain range that runs north-south for approximately 30 miles (50 km) to form the west side of Utah's Salt Lake Valley, separating it from Tooele Valley.
