The Real Ghostbusters (comics)
''The Real Ghostbusters'' is a comic book, comic series spun off from ''The Real Ghostbusters'' animated series. Versions were published by Marvel UK and NOW Comics. Publication of the series began on March 28, 1988. Publication history NOW Comics NOW Comics began publishing the series in August 1988. The series ran for two volumes, two annuals and one special. The first volume ran for twenty-eight issues. The series was primarily written by James Van Hise, with the exceptions being issue #4 by La Morris Richmond, and issue #21 which featured Marvel UK reprints due to production delays. John Tobias, Phil Hester (comics), Phillip Hester, Evan Dorkin and Howard Bender were among the pencilers for the series. The series went on hiatus for a time due to the publisher's financial difficulties, but was subsequently re-launched. Marvel UK
Marvel UK was an imprint of Marvel Comics formed in 1972 to reprint US-produced stories for the British weekly comic market. Marvel UK later produced original material by British creators such as Alan Moore, John Wagner, Dave Gibbons, Steve Dillon, and Grant Morrison. There were a number of editors in charge of overseeing the UK editions. Although based in the United States, Tony Isabella oversaw the establishment of Marvel UK. He was succeeded by UK-based editors Peter L. Skingley (a.k.a. Peter Allan) and then Matt Softly – both of whom were women who adopted male pen names for the job (in reality, they were Petra Skingley and Maureen Softly). They were then replaced by Neil Tennant, who later found fame with the pop group the Pet Shop Boys. Nick Laing succeeded him, but with a turbulent market and falling sales, Laing was let go and Dez Skinn took over. Egon Spengler
Egon Spengler, PhD is a fictional character from the ''Ghostbusters'' franchise. He appears in the films '' Ghostbusters'', ''Ghostbusters II'', and '' Ghostbusters: Afterlife'', in the animated television series '' The Real Ghostbusters'' and '' Extreme Ghostbusters'', in the video games '' Ghostbusters: The Video Game'' and ''Ghostbusters Beeline''. Egon was portrayed by Harold Ramis in the films and voiced by him in '' Ghostbusters: The Video Game'' and ''Lego Dimensions'', and voiced by Maurice LaMarche in the cartoon series. He is a member of the Ghostbusters and one of the three doctors of parapsychology, along with Dr. Peter Venkman and Dr. Ray Stantz. Slimer Comics
Slimer, originally referred to as "Onionhead" and sometimes "the Mean Green Ghost", is a character from the Ghostbusters (franchise), ''Ghostbusters'' franchise. He appears in the films ''Ghostbusters'' (1984), ''Ghostbusters II'' (1989), and the remake ''Ghostbusters (2016 film), Ghostbusters'' (2016), in the animated television series: ''The Real Ghostbusters'', ''Slimer!'' and ''Extreme Ghostbusters'', and in the video games: ''Ghostbusters: The Video Game'' (2009), ''Beeline (software company), Beeline's Ghostbusters'' (2013) and ''Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed'' (2022). Slimer was voiced by Ivan Reitman and Adam Ray (comedian), Adam Ray in the films and by Frank Welker in the animated series.
