The Flower Kings
The Flower Kings are a Swedish progressive rock band formed in 1994 by guitarist and singer-songwriter Roine Stolt. The group began as Stolt's touring band to support his third solo album '' The Flower King''. They continued performing after the tour and have gone on to become one of the most prolific studio recording units in progressive rock, having released over twenty hours of music spread across fifteen studio albums. Their music is similar to early symphonic progressive rock groups such as Yes, marked by sharp dynamic changes, polyrhythms, heavy bass, vocal harmonies, abstract and occasionally nonsensical lyrics, and extended song lengths. InsideOut Music
Inside Out Music is a German independent record label originally based in Kleve, North Rhine-Westphalia, and dedicated to the publication of progressive rock, progressive metal and related styles. In 2009, it formed a partnership with Century Media Records and moved its base of operations to Dortmund, also in North Rhine-Westphalia. In August 2015, Century Media was acquired by Sony Music and became its premier label for progressive music. History The label was founded in 1993 by Thomas Waber and Michael Schmitz and started its publications re-issuing albums of new American prog metal acts like Symphony X and Shadow Gallery for the European market and then signing important prog artists like Steve Hackett. Unfold The Future
''Unfold the Future'' is the seventh studio album by the progressive rock band The Flower Kings, which was released in 2002. It is also the band's third studio double- CD. A limited special edition of the album contained an instrumental bonus track. This album is the first appearance of both drummer Zoltan Csörsz, replacing the original member Jaime Salazar, and Pain of Salvation's frontman Daniel Gildenlöw, the latter as a guest vocalist on several tracks. The style of the album shows several influences of jazz music and experimentation, with the inclusion of two free-form jams (or three, counting the special edition bonus track), along with the band's traditional symphonic progressive rock style. In 2017, the album was remixed and reissued on vinyl. The 2017 version was also included in the box set ''A Kingdom of Colours: The Complete Collection from 1995–2002''. Roine Stolt
Roine Stolt (born 5 September 1956) is a Swedish guitarist, vocalist and composer. A major figure in Sweden's rock history, Stolt led two of his country's most successful progressive rock bands: Kaipa in the 1970s and The Flower Kings in the 1990s onward. Biography Stolt started his career in the late 1960s playing bass guitar in local rock bands. He switched to guitar in 1973 and in the brief sojourn with Allman Brothers-influenced Orexis. In 1974 he became the guitarist in Kaipa, a professional progressive rock band, he was 17 years old at that time, the group made three successful albums and toured more than 100 gigs a year, including national TV and radio performances in Scandinavia. In 1979 he left Kaipa to form his own group Fantasia and made two albums. The group split up in 1983 and Stolt started working as a solo and session musician, arranger and producer. Hasse Fröberg
Hasse Fröberg (born 4 January 1964) is a Sweden, Swedish guitarist, composer and vocalist, currently one of the vocalists and guitarists of The Flower Kings. He fronted a handful of hard rock bands before joining them and currently has his own solo project, Hasse Fröberg & Musical Companion. Biography Hasse entered the world of music early on with guitar and drum lessons as a child. He formed his first group at the age of 10: a trio in Emerson, Lake & Palmer, ELP style, at least when it comes to the line-up. It was named HPP3 and it included Fröberg on vocals and guitar, Patric Pettersson on drums and Patric Cohen on keyboards. He began playing in local pop and rock bands at the age of 15. In 1983 Hasse started the heavy rock band Spellbound. Later on he wrote much of the material together with Guitar player JJ Marsh. Jonas Reingold
Jonas Reingold (born 22 April 1969) is a Swedish bass guitarist from Malmö. Biography Reingold started to play bass in 1986 when he subbed for a friend in the local famous act WIRE. The band was happy with his performance and offered him the spot. From 1988 until 1994, he studied music and achieved a master's degree of fine arts in 1994. Busy working as a session player between 1994 and 1996 he finally released his debut album as a band leader in 1995, which was called ''Sweden Bass Orchestra''. It was a bass big band consisting of 5 bass players and a drummer. They also had a guest performance by Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen on the disc. Between 1996 and 1999, Reingold was busy recording with various artists and different projects, such as Midnight Sun, Reingold, Sand and Gold and others.
