It was screened out of competition at the 74th Venice International Film Festival. It was released in limited theaters and on VOD in the United States on October 9, 2020 by Quiver Distribution. It was the final film to star Charles Grodin, who died on May 18, 2021. James Toback
James Toback (; born November 23, 1944) is an American film director and screenwriter. His screenplay for '' Bugsy'' won the 1991 Los Angeles Film Critics Association award for best screenplay of the year and was nominated for both the Academy Award for best original screenplay and for the Golden Globe best screenplay award. Toback's documentary Tyson, which he directed and co-produced, was featured at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival, winning a prize in the festival's ''Un Certain Regard'' section. That film was nominated for best documentary awards in several United States competitions. In 2009, the San Francisco International Film Festival selected Toback for its annual Kanbar Award for excellence in screenwriting. John Buffalo Mailer (born April 16, 1978) is an American author, playwright, actor, producer, and journalist. Life and career Mailer was born in Brooklyn, the youngest child of novelist Norman Mailer and author Norris Church Mailer. Mailer is a graduate of Wesleyan University. He has written several screenplays and is a freelance journalist. In 2006 he co-wrote ''The Big Empty'' (Nation Books, February '06) with his father. Mailer founded Back House Productions in New York City with three other Wesleyan grads in October 2000.
