The Priory Witham Academy
The Priory Witham Academy is a Mixed-sex education, mixed all-through school and sixth form located in Lincoln, England, Lincoln in the English county of Lincolnshire. The school educates pupils aged 3 to 18. History Secondary modern school Building of the new secondary modern school was to be finished by August 1957.It opened in September 1957 as Boultham Moor Secondary Modern Girls School. It was officially opened on Monday April 28 1958, with the Bishop of Lincoln, Kenneth Riches. There were twelve classrooms, four laboratories, two domestic science rooms, and rooms for needlework, art and general crafts. There were 480 places, to be extended to 600. It was built by Messrs FR Eccleshare Ltd. The Foreign Secretary, Rab Butler, spoke at the school on Thursday 16 July 1964. By 1974 it was planned to become the Boultham Moor Secondary School, a coeducational, for ages 12-18, with around 1000 children. Academy (English School)
An academy school in England is a state-funded school which is directly funded by the Department for Education and independent of local authority control. The terms of the arrangements are set out in individual Academy Funding Agreements. Most academies are secondary schools, though slightly more than 25% of primary schools (4,363 as of December 2017) are academies. Academies are self-governing non-profit charitable trusts and may receive additional support from personal or corporate sponsors, either financially or in kind. Louth Academy
Louth Academy is a co-educational secondary school located in Louth in the English county of Lincolnshire. History Monks' Dyke High School opened on Monks' Dyke Road in Louth in 1929. In September 2012 the school merged with Tennyson High School in Mablethorpe to form Monks' Dyke Tennyson College. The school continued to operate over both sites until August 2016 when the Mablethorpe site closed. Previously a foundation school administered by Lincolnshire County Council, in September 2017 Monks' Dyke Tennyson College converted to academy status and was renamed Louth Academy. The school is now sponsored by the Lincolnshire Gateway Academies Trust (formerly Tollbar Multi Academy Trust). At the same time Cordeaux Academy (located on North Holme Road in Louth) merged with the new Louth Academy. The school is now based over both sites. OCR Nationals are vocationally related qualifications which were officially launched by the OCR Board in September 2004. The qualifications are designed to meet the needs of those seeking vocational education in place of the traditional, theory-intensive, academic route. The Business and Technology Education Council (BTEC) is a provider of secondary school leaving qualifications and further education qualifications in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Whilst the T in BTEC previously stood for Technical, according to the DFE (2016) it now stands for Technology. BTECs originated in 1984 and were awarded by Edexcel from 1996. Skegness Academy is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form with academy status, in Skegness, Lincolnshire, England. History Secondary modern schools Skegness Secondary School opened in 1932.
