''The Price Is Right'' is an Australian television game show that has been produced in a number of different formats, based on the American concept of the same title. The most recent of these formats began airing on 7 May 2012 on Seven Network. Larry Emdur, who hosted the program on two occasions prior to 2012, was the presenter for the 2012 revival. Original version The Australian version of the Price is Right, debuted on ATN-7 in Sydney in 1957 and was hosted by Bruce Beeby and later Keith Walsh until 1959. Geoff Manion hosted the show on GTV-9 in Melbourne on Sundays for sixteen weeks in 1958. In 1963, the show was screened on the entire Seven Network and was hosted by musician Horrie Dargie. Bob Stewart (television Producer)
Bob Stewart (born Isidore L. Steinberg; August 27, 1920 – May 4, 2012) was an American television game show producer. He was active in the TV industry from 1956 until his retirement in 1991. Stewart is known for creating some of the most popular game shows for Mark Goodson-Bill Todman Productions. These shows include ''To Tell the Truth'', ''Password (American game show), Password'', and ''The Price Is Right (U.S. game show), The Price Is Right.'' His biggest success as an independent producer was the ''Pyramid (game show), Pyramid'' series, starting with ''The $10,000 Pyramid'' in 1973. Mark Goodson
Mark Leo Goodson (January 14, 1915 – December 18, 1992) was an American television producer who specialized in game shows, most frequently with his business partner Bill Todman, with whom he created Goodson-Todman Productions. Early life and early career Goodson was born in Sacramento, California, on January 14, 1915. *a "Born Jan. 14, 1915 in Sacramento, CA." — ¶ 1. Horrie Dargie
Horace Andrew Dargie (7 July 191730 August 1999) was an Australian musician and harmonicist, television compere and manager and music label founder and arranger. Life and career Early life Horrie Dargie was born in Whyalla, South Australia, the second son of Andrew Dargie and Adelaide Mary Dargie (née Sargent). His older brother Sir William Dargie was a noted Australian portrait artist. Music Dargie began his musical career as a diatonica harmonica player. A self-taught musician, he was inspired greatly by Larry Adler and learned to play the Gershwin composition "Rhapsody in Blue". He joined the Yarraville Mouth Organ Band, which practised in a shoe repair shop. Later he joined William Ketterer's Victorian Mouth Organ Band.
