The Predator (novel)
''The Predator'', published in 1996 and written by K. A. Applegate, is the fifth book in the ''Animorphs'' series. It is narrated by Marco. Plot summary Two years before the events of the novel, Marco's mother vanished in a boating accident; her body was never found. Marco's father has fallen into deep depression and Marco is having second thoughts about fighting the Yeerks, parasitic aliens that are the main antagonists of the series, as he does not want his father to lose him too. Ax wishes to return to the Andalite home world, and to do so, he needs a ship. He intends to build a communicator to broadcast a Yeerk distress signal and lure in a Yeerk ship which he can then hijack. He, Jake, and Marco go to the mall to buy the equipment to build a communicator. Ax finds the food court and runs wild sampling food left over on tables, overwhelmed by the new sense of taste. Black Garden Ant
The black garden ant (''Lasius niger''), also known as the common black ant, is a formicine ant, the type species of the subgenus ''Lasius'', which is found across Europe and in some parts of North America, South America, Asia and Australasia. The European species was split into two species; ''L. niger'', which are found in open areas; and ''L. platythorax'', which is found in forest habitats. It is monogynous, meaning colonies contain a single queen. ''Lasius niger'' colonies can reach in size up to around 40,000 workers in rare cases, but 4,000–7,000 is around average. Jellyfish and sea jellies are the informal common names given to the medusa-phase of certain gelatinous members of the subphylum Medusozoa, a major part of the phylum Cnidaria. The Stranger (Animorphs)
''The Stranger'' is the seventh book in the ''Animorphs'' series, written by K.A. Applegate. It is narrated by Rachel. Plot summary Rachel's father asks her to move with him to another state. After some reconnaissance work, Marco and Tobias find an entrance to the underground Yeerk Pool, in one of the changing rooms at The Gap. The Animorphs decide to infiltrate the pool and to try to find the location of the Earth-based Kandrona by going in as cockroaches. Once inside the complex, however, they get caught on the tongue of a Taxxon. As they are about to be devoured, time freezes and they feel themselves being forcibly brought out of morph. Northern Harrier
The northern harrier (''Circus hudsonius''), or ring-tailed hawk, is a bird of prey. It breeds throughout the northern parts of the northern hemisphere in Canada and the northernmost USA. The northern harrier migrates to more southerly areas in winter, with breeding birds in more northern areas moving to the southernmost USA, Mexico, and Central America. In milder regions in the southern US, they may be present all year, but the higher ground is largely deserted in winter. This bird inhabits prairies, open areas, and marshes. Gorillas are herbivorous, predominantly ground-dwelling great apes that inhabit the tropical forests of equatorial Africa. Osprey
The osprey (''Pandion haliaetus''), , also called sea hawk, river hawk, and fish hawk, is a diurnal, fish-eating bird of prey with a cosmopolitan range. Bald Eagle
