''The Platinum Collection'' is a 2009 box set by the ambient musical project Enigma. It contains three CDs - the first CD comprises the band's most popular tracks from previous years, the second CD consists of remixes, and the third CD contains previously unreleased tracks composed and produced by Michael Cretu. The cover image shows the Lady with an Ermine (Cecilia Gallerani Cecilia Gallerani (; early 1473 – 1536) was the favourite and most celebrated of the many mistresses of Ludovico Sforza, known as Lodovico il Moro, Duke of Milan. Enigma (German Band)
Enigma is a German musical project founded in 1990 by Romanian-German musician and producer Michael Cretu. Cretu had released several solo records, collaborated with various artists, and produced albums for his then-wife, German pop singer Sandra, before he conceived the idea of a new-age, worldbeat project. He recorded the first Enigma studio album, '' MCMXC a.D.'' (1990), with contributions from David Fairstein and Frank Peterson. The album remains Enigma's most successful, helped by the international hit single "Sadeness (Part I)", which sold twelve million units alone. According to Cretu, the inspiration for the creation of the project came from his desire to make a kind of music that did not obey "the old rules and habits" and presented a new form of artistic expression with mystic and experimental components. Out From The Deep
"Out from the Deep" is a 1994 song created by the German electronic band Enigma. This single is the fourth and last single released from the band's second album, ''The Cross of Changes''. The single cover art is a simplified version of ''The Cross of Changes''. The song employs a more traditional rock format compared to Enigma's hallmark electronica sound. The song contains a sample from A Positive Life's "The Calling". Michael Cretu provides vocals here. The lyrics of the second verse are the same as the ones of The Cross of Changes' opening track ''Second Chapter''. Nicholas Bracegirdle (born 28 February 1971), known professionally as Chicane, is an English musician, composer, songwriter, and record producer. "La Puerta del Cielo / Seven Lives" is the first single from Enigma's seventh album ''Seven Lives Many Faces''. Overview The track "Seven Lives" had been featured on German TV as the signature theme to the public broadcaster EinsFestival's coverage of the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. The single was digitally released in Germany on 8 August and physically on 15 August. The single reached top 50 in Germany and remained in the top 100 for several weeks. "Seven Lives" was featured in the well-known Norwegian game Kahoot! as part of the soundtrack. Cretu was uncredited for it. The title of the song "La Puerta del Cielo" (The Gate of Heaven) is in Spanish but its lyrics are in Catalan: ''Allà dins es canal / En es peu da sa muntanya''. The voyageurs (; ) were 18th and 19th century French Canadians who engaged in the transporting of furs via canoe during the peak of the North American fur trade. The emblematic meaning of the term applies to places (New France, including the ''Pays d'en Haut'' and the ''Pays des Illinois'') and times where transportation of materials was mainly over long distances. The voyageurs were regarded as legendary. They were heroes celebrated in folklore and music. For reasons of promised celebrity status and wealth, this position was coveted.
