The Perfect Clown
''The Perfect Clown'' is a 1925 American silent slapstick comedy film starring Larry Semon and Kate Price. It features an early screen appearance by Oliver Hardy. Directed by Fred C. Newmeyer, the screenplay was written by Thomas J. Crizer, who also wrote the subtitles along with Charlie Saxton. Plot The story is about a clerk who is given $10,000 to deposit at the bank, but the bank is closed for the night so he tries to get to the bank president's house with the money. Joan Meredith
Joan Meredith (January 28, 1907 – October 13, 1980) was an American silent film actress. Biography Meredith was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and moved to Hollywood in the mid-1920s after winning a beauty contest that brought her to the attention of talent scouts. She was pretty, with a petite build and was 5 feet tall. Her first credited role was in the 1925 film '' Blue Blood'', starring alongside George Walsh and Cecille Evans. She starred in two films that year, and was one of thirteen girls selected to be "WAMPAS Baby Stars", a list which included June Marlowe, now famous for her role on the '' Our Gang'' serials. Her second film of 1925 was opposite Dorothy Dwan in ''The Perfect Clown''. The UCLA Film & Television Archive is a visual arts organization focused on the preservation, study, and appreciation of film and television, based at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Stanley J. "Tiny" Sandford (February 26, 1894October 29, 1961) was an American actor who is best remembered for his roles in Laurel and Hardy and Charlie Chaplin films. His tall, burly physique usually led him to be cast as a comic heavy, and often played policemen, doormen, prizefighters, or bullies. Biography Sandford was born in Osage, Iowa, in 1894. After working in stock theater he began acting in movies around 1910. He appeared in ''The Gold Rush'' with Charlie Chaplin. Other Chaplin films that he appeared in include '' The Circus'' (1928) and '' Modern Times'' (1936), where he plays "Big Bill". Stuart Holmes (born Joseph Liebchen; March 10, 1884 – December 29, 1971) was an American actor and sculptor whose career spanned seven decades. He appeared in almost 450 films between 1909 and 1964, sometimes credited as Stewart Holmes. Biography Holmes was born Joseph Liebchen on March 10, 1884, in Chicago, Illinois, where he was educated. For 20 years, Holmes performed in vaudeville and on stage, with the latter often being in Shakespeare's plays. His work in the theater included a stint in Germany. Holmes's film career began in 1911 and ended with ''The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance'' (1962). As a sculptor Holmes created work for at least three California United States post offices — in Oceanside (1936), Claremont (1937), and Bell (1937). Fix appeared in more than 100 movies and dozens of television shows over a 56-year career between 1925 and 1981.
