''The People of Simlang Valley'' (Swedish: ''Folket i SimlÃ¥ngsdalen'') is a 1947 Swedish drama film directed by Ã…ke Ohberg and starring Edvin Adolphson, Eva Dahlbeck and Arthur Fischer.Qvist & Von Bagh p.61 The film's sets were designed by the art director Bibi Lindström. It is based on the 1903 novel ''The People of Simlang Valley'' by Fredrik Ström, which had previously been adapted into a 1924 silent film of the same title. Ã…ke Ohberg (20 July 1905 – 18 July 1975) was a cinema of Sweden, Swedish actor and film director. He appeared in about 30 roles in films between 1932 and 1961. Ohberg was born to Johan and Hulda Ohberg in VästerÃ¥s, Sweden. Marriage and Family He married actress Birgit Chenon but that marriage did not last. Torgny Anderberg (25 February 1919 – 6 November 2000) was a Swedish actor and film director. He appeared in more than 25 films and television shows between 1944 and 1993. Anderberg was an avid documentary filmmaker parallel to his work in fiction films. His documentary work is arguably comparable to that of the enthofiction of Jean Rouch, as his early documentaries melded documentary and fiction film strategies in their discourse. A similar rhetoric is also found in his later work. Naima Wifstrand (; 4 September 1890 – 23 October 1968) was a Swedish film actress, operetta singer, troubadour, director and composer. In her later years, she was cast in several supporting roles in Ingmar Bergman films. Biography Born Siri Naima Matilda Wifstrand in Stockholm in 1890, she was raised by her mother in Fleminggatan. Wifstrand never trained acting but learned the art thoroughly when she in 1905 joined the Anna Lundberg Theatre Company, a well reputed and respected theatre company in Sweden at the time.
