The Patterson School
The Patterson School was a private, non-profit, co-educational, non-denominational, multi-cultural boarding and day school for grades seven through twelve, and one year of post-secondary study, located in Lenoir, North Carolina. The school opened in 1909 under the auspices of Samuel L. Patterson, the school's namesake and the first elected agricultural commissioner for the state of North Carolina. Patterson was most noted for its successful athletic program during the 2000s, particularly in men's basketball. Citing financial concerns, the school closed its doors in 2009, and the facility was leased to the Caldwell County Schools system in 2012. Lenoir is a city in and the county seat of Caldwell County, North Carolina, Caldwell County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 18,263 at the 2020 census. Ahmad Ibrahim (basketball)
Ahmad Ali Ibrahim ( ar, إبراهيم أحمد, born February 18, 1992) is a Lebanese professional basketball player who plays for Lebanese club Sagesse SC. He was a member of the Lebanon national basketball team for the 2010 William Jones Cup. During the 2012 off-season, Ahmad left the Rice Owls to pursue a professional career in Lebanon. High school During 2008–09, he attended The Patterson School in Lenoir, North Carolina. However, the school closed for funding reasons in 2009. For his junior year, he attended Mountain State Academy and for his senior year, he attended Christian Life Center Academy in Humble, Texas. Jamar Lascells Samuels (born May 25, 1989) is an American professional basketball player who last played for Maccabi Kiryat Motzkin of the Israeli National League. He played college basketball for Kansas State University. Amateur career Samuels attended The Patterson School in Lenoir, North Carolina, and enrolled at Kansas State University to play college basketball for the Kansas State Wildcats. Atlanta Dream
The Atlanta Dream are an American professional basketball team based in Atlanta, playing in the Eastern Conference in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The team was founded for the 2008 WNBA season. The team is owned by real estate investors Larry Gottesdiener, Suzanne Abair and former Dream player Renee Montgomery. Although the Dream share the Atlanta market with the National Basketball Association's Hawks, the Dream is not affiliated with its NBA counterpart. Angel Lajuane McCoughtry (born September 10, 1986) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Minnesota Lynx of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) and a two-time Olympic gold medalist. McCoughtry completed her college career at the University of Louisville in 2009. She was selected first overall by the Atlanta Dream in the 2009 WNBA draft and was considered its franchise player during her tenure with the team. Arsalan Kazemi Naeini ( fa, ارسلان کاظمی نائینی; born 22 April 1990) is an Iranian professional basketball player for Chemidor Qom of the Iranian Basketball Super League. He played college basketball for the Oregon Ducks and the Rice Owls basketball teams.
