''The Password to Larkspur Lane'' is the tenth volume in the Nancy Drew Mystery Stories series. It was first published in 1933 under the pseudonym Carolyn Keene. The actual author was ghostwriter Walter Karig in his third and final Nancy Drew novel and his final appearance for the Stratemeyer Syndicate. Due to Karig's death in 1956, this book and his other two Nancy Drews, as of January 1, 2007, have passed into the public domain in Canada and other countries with a life-plus-50 policy. Carolyn Keene
Carolyn Keene is the pseudonym of the authors of the Nancy Drew mystery stories and The Dana Girls mystery stories, both produced by the Stratemeyer Syndicate. In addition, the Keene pen name is credited with the Nancy Drew spin-off, ''River Heights, and the Nancy Drew Notebooks. Edward Stratemeyer, the founder of the Syndicate, hired writers, beginning with Mildred Wirt, later Mildred Wirt Benson, to write the manuscripts for the Nancy Drew books. The writers were paid $125 for each book and were required by their contract to give up all rights to the work and to maintain confidentiality. Benson is credited as the primary writer of Nancy Drew books under the pseudonym Carolyn Keene. Harriet Adams (Stratemeyer's daughter) rewrote the original books and added new titles after the withdrawal of Benson. Bonita Gloria Granville Wrather (February 2, 1923 – October 11, 1988) was an American actress and producer. The daughter of vaudevillians, Granville began her career on the stage at age three. She initially began as a child actress, making her film debut in ''Westward Passage'' (1932). She rose to prominence for her role in ''These Three'' (1936), which earned her an Academy Award nomination at age fourteen. Her prominence continued with the ''Nancy Drew'' film series, and roles in ''Now, Voyager'' (1942) and '' Hitler's Children'' (1943). Rudy Nappi
Joseph Rudolph Nappi, working as Rudy Nappi (February 12, 1923 – March 13, 2015) was an American illustrator. According to the National Museum of American Illustration, Nappi was "a well-known commercial illustrator and widely considered one of the greatest pulp fiction artists of his time." Nappi created the cover art for many mid-20th century Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys series titles. Nappi's original artwork is "avidly collected." Life and work Nappi was born in Orangetown, New York. After serving in the Army Air Corps in World War II, Nappi used the benefits of the G.I. Bill to go to school at the Art Students League of New York, and then showed his portfolio to a pulp fiction publisher who hired him. ''Nancy Drew'' is an American mystery drama television series based on the series of mystery novels about the titular character. The homing pigeon, also called the mail pigeon or messenger pigeon, is a variety of domestic pigeons (''Columba livia domestica'') derived from the wild rock dove, selectively bred for its ability to find its way home over extremely long distances.
