The Park (play)
''The Park'' () is a 1983 play by the German writer Botho Strauß. It is loosely based on William Shakespeare's ''A Midsummer Night's Dream'', with the characters moved to a contemporary German city. Strauß wrote the play after a cancelled staging of ''A Midsummer Night's Dream'' for the Berliner Schaubühne. Strauß had worked on his own translation of the play, but decided to adapt it into a new play with a modern-day setting. The play was printed in 1983 and staged in three German versions the following year, by Dieter Bitterli in Freiburg, Dieter Dorn at the Munich Kammerspiele and Peter Stein at the Berliner Schaubühne. Buster (comic)
''Buster'' was a British comic which began publication in 1960, originally published by IPC Magazines Ltd under the company's comics division Fleetway, then by Egmont UK Ltd under the same imprint until its closure in 2000. Despite missing issues due to industrial action during its run, the comic published 1,902 issues in total. The comic carried a mixture of humour and adventure strips, featuring the title character Buster and a host of other characters. Description The title character, whose strip usually appeared on the front cover, was Buster himself. He was originally billed as ''Buster: Son of Andy Capp''; Andy Capp is the lead character of the eponymous ''Daily Mirror'' newspaper strip, and Buster wore a similar flat cap to reinforce the connection. ''The Park'' is a 2003 Hong Kong horror film originally released in 3-D. The film was directed and produced by Andrew Lau. The film was shown at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival as part of the midnight screenings. Plot 14 years ago, a girl fell to her death from the Ferris wheel in an amusement park and the park's owner hanged himself from the wheel in guilt for the casualty. The game was released for Microsoft Windows via Steam on October 27, 2015 and is a spin-off of an earlier Funcom game, ''The Secret World''. Woodlands is a model village 4 miles (6 km) north-west of Doncaster in South Yorkshire, England. The village lies adjacent to Highfields and Adwick le Street within the City of Doncaster. The Park Estate is a private residential housing estate to the west of Nottingham city centre, England. It is noted for its Victorian architecture, although many of the houses have been altered, extended or converted into Apartment, flats. The estate uses gas lighting, gas street lighting, which is believed to be one of the largest networks in Europe. History The Park Estate started life as a forested Deer park (England), deer park situated immediately to the west of Nottingham Castle. The castle was, from its construction in 1087 until 1663, a royal castle, and the adjoining park a royal park. The Park, Burley-on-the-Hill
The Park was a cricket ground situated in the grounds of the mansion of George Finch, 9th Earl of Winchilsea at Burley-on-the-Hill in Rutland. It was used for first-class cricket in 1790, when an early all-England team played a Hampshire team. The fixture was repeated the following year. Also in 1791, an Old Etonians side played the Marylebone Cricket Club. In 1792 the Earl of Winchilsea's XI played Assheton Smith's XI. In 1793, England played a Surrey team at the ground. The final first-class match held on the ground was during the same year when the Earl of Winchilsea's XI played R Leigh's XI. The final recorded match held on the ground was in 1814 when Rutland played Nottingham. Skye, formerly known as The Park, is a 22-story building at Caldwell and Third Streets in Charlotte, North Carolina that includes a 172-room Hyatt Place hotel opened October 15, 2013, and a 69-unit condominium development. In 1985, developer Pete Verna built the Charlotte National Building and a parking garage designed to be the base of a skyscraper. Both structures were four stories; the Charlotte National Building included the facade of the First Citizens Bank building which was demolished for First Citizens Plaza.
