The Paper Lads
''The Paper Lads'' is a children's television series produced by Tyne Tees Television and broadcast nationally from 1977 to 1979. It was set in the northern industrial city of Newcastle upon Tyne, although much of the series was filmed in Gateshead, and recounted the adventures of a group of newspaper delivery boys and a girl. There were two series made, each of seven episodes. William Corlett's four scripts for the series won him the Writer's Guild Award for Best Children's Writer.William Corlett, ''The Door in The Tree'', Pocket Books, page 298. Target Books was a British publishing imprint, established in 1973 by Universal-Tandem Publishing Co Ltd, a paperback publishing company. The imprint was established as a children's imprint to complement the adult Tandem imprint, and became well known for their highly successful range of novelisations and other assorted books based on the popular science fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. Their first publications based on the serial were reprints in paperback of three novels which had been previously published as hardbacks: ''Doctor Who and the Daleks'' and ''Doctor Who and the Crusaders'' by David Whitaker, and ''Doctor Who and the Zarbi'' by Bill Strutton. ''A Song for All Seasons'' is the eighth studio album by the English progressive rock band Renaissance, released in 1978. It marked the return of electric guitars to the band's music after several years of absence. " Northern Lights" from the album reached the top ten on the UK Singles Chart and is the band's only UK chart single. Overview A shortened recording of "Back Home Once Again" was used as the theme song for the short-lived 1977 British TV series ''The Paper Lads''. "She Is Love", sung by Jon Camp, was meant to be sung by Annie Haslam, but the orchestral backing track turned out to have been recorded in the wrong key for her. Drummer Terry Sullivan had his first songwriting credit with the band on the title track. He was responsible for the basic tune to the song's extended instrumental intro.
