The Pace That Thrills (1925 Film)
''The Pace That Thrills'' is a 1925 American silent drama film directed by Webster Campbell and starring Ben Lyon, Mary Astor, and Charles Byer. It was released by First National. Plot As described in a film magazine review, a motion picture actor, whose mother is in prison for the murder of her drunken husband, refuses to take chances with his life on the lot and is considered a coward. He dare not risk accident and the consequent curtailment of his earning power because he needs money to secure his mother’s pardon. He is secretly in love with his producer’s daughter, but she too thinks him cowardly. However, he proves himself in a quick succession of events, and frees his mother and wins the affections of the young woman. Webster Campbell (January 25, 1893 – August 28, 1972) was an American silent film actor, director, and screenwriter. He began screenwriting in 1913 and became an actor in 1915. He became primarily a director in 1921. By 1936, he retired and wrote short stories. Fritzi Brunette (born Florence Brunet; May 27, 1890 – September 28, 1943) was an American actress. Early years Fritzi Brunette was born Florence Brunet in Savannah, Georgia, or in Boston although some sources list her birthname as Florence Simone. She was educated in New York City. Career Brunette made her film debut in the 1912 short ''A Waiter of Weight'', followed by ''The Joy Ride'' (1912), and ''His Neighbor's Wife'' (1912).
