Dragan Kresoja
Dragan Kresoja 23 March 1946 – 6 November 1996) was a Serbian film director. After working as an assistant director on a number of SFR Yugoslavia, Yugoslav television and feature film productions throughout the 1970s he began directing in the early 1980s. Two of his films were List of Yugoslav submissions for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, Yugoslav submissions for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film - ''The End of the War'' (1984) and ''The Original of the Forgery'' (1991). Zarko (Greek: Ζάρκο, also: ''Zarkos'') is a village in the Farkadona municipality, Trikala regional unit, Greece. Zarko had a population of 1,247 in 2011. Zarko is located on the edge of the Thessalian Plain, 5 km east of Farkadona proper, and 25 km west of Larissa. Population History Zarko's initial name was ''Fayttos'' (Φαϋττός), however still it is not clear at which exactly point the name changed to ''Zarko''. The name Fayttos reflects the ancient town of Phayttos that was located within the bounds of the town. There is also much speculation regarding the source of the name Zarko. Some people say that many roe deer (zarkadia, Greek: ζαρκάδια) used to live around the area, while others believe that this is actually the name (Zarko) of a Serbian leader who ruled the area in the 14th century. The award is handed out annually by the United States Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English dialogue. This is a list of submissions to the 64th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. The Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film was created in 1956 by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to honour non-English-speaking films produced outside the United States. The award is handed out annually, and is accepted by the winning film's director, although it is considered an award for the submitting country as a whole. Countries are invited by the Academy to submit their best films for competition according to strict rules, with only one film being accepted from each country. For the 64th Academy Awards, thirty-four films were submitted in the category Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. The five nominated films came from Czechoslovakia, Hong Kong, Iceland, Sweden and the eventual winner, ''Mediterraneo'', from Italy.
