The Only Witness
''The Only Witness'' by Jude Watson is the seventeenth in a series of young reader novels called '' Jedi Apprentice''. The series explores the adventures of Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi prior to ''Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace''. Plot A witness asks for escort and protection from the Jedi Order. She wants to testify against her family - the Cobral group - who control the planet of Frego much like the Syndicat controlled Phindar. An older Obi-Wan Kenobi and his master, Qui-Gon Jinn, have been sent to protect her, but they suspect that she is hiding something. The Cobral family stop at nothing to ensure that the witness does not testify, but they eventually fail. She is escorted to Coruscant, where she successfully testifies. Jude Watson
Judy Blundell, pseudonym Jude Watson, is an American author of books for middle grade, young adult, and adult readers. She won the annual National Book Award for Young People's Literature in 2008 for the young adult novel '' What I Saw and How I Lied'', published under her real name by Scholastic Books. Life Blundell is better known as Jude Watson, an author of books set in the ''Star Wars'' universe. Her publisher, Scholastic, calls her "the most celebrated author in the prequel-era of the Star Wars phenomenon" (that is, Star Wars fiction set in the time frame of the three prequel movies). Writing for the Star Wars franchise, she worked with editors from LucasBooks as well as Scholastic. Jedi
Jedi (), Jedi Knights, or collectively the Jedi Order are the main heroic protagonists of many works of the '' Star Wars'' franchise. Working symbiotically alongside the Old Galactic Republic, and later supporting the Rebel Alliance, the Jedi Order is depicted as a monastic, academic, military, and meritocratic peacekeeping organization whose origin dates back thousands of years before the events of the first film released in the franchise. Yoda
Yoda () is a fictional character in the ''Star Wars'' universe, first appearing in the 1980 film ''The Empire Strikes Back''. He is a small, green humanoid alien who is powerful with the Force and is a leading member of the Jedi Order until its near annihilation. In ''The Empire Strikes Back'', Yoda was voiced and puppeteered by Frank Oz, who reprised the role in ''Return of the Jedi'', the prequel trilogy, and the sequel trilogy. Mace Windu
Mace Windu is a fictional character in the ''Star Wars'' franchise. Windu was portrayed by Samuel L. Jackson in the prequel trilogy. Jackson reprised the role in the 2008 animated film '' Star Wars: The Clone Wars'' and with voice only in the 2019 film ''The Rise of Skywalker'', whilst Terrence C. Coruscant
Coruscant () is an ecumenopolis planet in the fictional ''Star Wars'' universe. Its first appearance was onscreen in the 1997 Special Edition of ''Return of the Jedi'', but was first depicted and mentioned by name in Timothy Zahn's 1991 novel ''Heir to the Empire''. Coruscant is a prominent location in both canon and ''Legends'' media that has been produced. Frego
''Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice'' is a series of ''Star Wars'' young reader novels, published between 1999 and 2002. The series was primarily written by Jude Watson, although the first book was written by Dave Wolverton. The books follow the adventures of young Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and his Master, Qui-Gon Jinn, before the events of '' Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace''. The series is primarily targeted at children aged 9 through 12, though due to the books' writing style and serial plot development, the novels have also found an audience among older readers.
