The Nile Song
"The Nile Song", written by Roger Waters and sung by David Gilmour, is the second song from Pink Floyd's 1969 album ''More (soundtrack), More'', the soundtrack to More (1969 film), the film of the same name. It was released as a single in 1969 (only in France, Japan and New Zealand), and included on the 1971 compilation album ''Relics (album), Relics''. While Pink Floyd never played the song in concert, Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets performed it in 2018. While the rest of the ''More'' album was issued in true stereo, "The Nile Song" was mixed in mono and processed into Duophonic stereo for release. A proper mono mix was eventually issued on the album's 2011 CD remaster. Composition Andy Kellman of AllMusic feels that "The Nile Song" is "one of the heaviest songs the band ever recorded". Panthers (band)
Panthers is an American punk rock band from Brooklyn, New York City. The ''Village Voice'' described them as "groundbreaking dissonant HC (hardcore) with Rolling Stones swagger." Three members were previously in the hardcore band Orchid. Panthers have released four records. The most recent two, ''The Trick'' and ''Things Are Strange'' were released on Vice Records. Prior to that they released via Dim Mak Records and Troubleman Unlimited. They began as a side project by members of the bands Orchid, Turing Machine, and The Red Scare. Kip Uhlhorn went on to form the band Cloudland Canyon with Simon Wojan of King Khan & the Shrines. Red Temple Spirits were an American post-punk band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1987. History Forming in 1987, the group's original lineup consisted of vocalist William Faircloth, guitarist Dallas Taylor, bass guitarist Dino Paredes and drummer Thomas Pierik. Faircloth, an immigrant from England, had previously sung for trio Ministry of Love, who released the ''Wide Awake and Dreaming'' EP in 1987 on the label Underworld. Paredes had previously played with Kelly Wheeler of Psi Com. Pierik and Taylor had earlier been members of the Web, along with bassist Johann Schumann (later of Christian Death). Necros
Necros was an early American hardcore punk band from Maumee, Ohio, although they are usually identified with the Detroit music scene. They were the first band to record for Touch and Go Records. History Necros was formed in mid-1975 by then-teenagers Barry Henssler (vocals), Andy Wendler (guitar), and Todd Swalla (drums). After going through a handful of bassists (including Donny Brook, Jeff Allsop, David Cooke, Brian Hyland, Jeff Lake, and Brian Pollack), Corey Rusk joined the band. Barry Henssler had struck up a friendship with Tesco Vee and Dave Stimson of ''Touch and Go'' magazine after sending them a copy of his own 'zine, ''Smegma Journal''. Nicholas Berkeley Mason, (born 27 January 1944) is an English drummer and a founder member of the progressive rock band Pink Floyd. He is the only member to feature on every Pink Floyd album, and the only constant member since its formation in 1965. He co-wrote Pink Floyd compositions such as " Echoes", "Time", " Careful with That Axe, Eugene", and " One of These Days". In 2018, he formed a new band, Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets, to perform music from Pink Floyd's early years. Hard Rock
Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Hard rock began in the mid-1960s with the garage, psychedelic and blues rock movements. Some of the earliest hard rock music was produced by the Kinks, the Who, The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Cream, Vanilla Fudge, and the Jimi Hendrix Experience.
