Miriam Mahdaviani
Miriam Mahdaviani is a choreographer, a former New York City Ballet dancer and a '' repetiteur'' for the George Balanchine Trust. She has created ballets for NYCB's 1988 American Music Festival and its Diamond Project in 1992, 1994,1997, 2000 and 2002. She also choreographed ballets for Pacific Northwest Ballet, Richmond Ballet, Jacob's Pillow, Vassar College, NYU Tisch School of the Arts, SUNY Purchase, and others. Internationally, her ballets have been presented at MaggioDanza in Florence, Italy and at the Edinburg Festival in Scotland. Mahdaviani married Eric Goldstone on October 9, 1988, and has two daughters, Carolyn and Elizabeth. David Diamond (composer)
David Leo Diamond (July 9, 1915 – June 13, 2005) was an American composer of classical music. He is considered one of the preeminent American composers of his generation. Many of his works are tonal or modestly modal. His early compositions are typically triadic, often with widely spaced harmonies, giving them a distinctly American tone, but some of his works are consciously French in style. His later style became more chromatic. Life and career He was born in Rochester, New York, and studied at the Cleveland Institute of Music and the Eastman School of Music under Bernard Rogers, also receiving lessons from Roger Sessions in New York City and Nadia Boulanger in Paris. He won a number of awards including three Guggenheim Fellowships. Diamond's most popular piece is ''Rounds'' (1944) for string orchestra. The David H. Damian Woetzel
Damian Woetzel (born May 17, 1967) is an American choreographer. Woetzel was a principal dancer with the New York City Ballet, where he performed from 1985 until 2008. He also frequently performed with companies like the Kirov Ballet and American Ballet Theatre, until his retirement from the stage in 2008. Woetzel has also choreographed a number of ballets for NYCB and other companies. Among his awards, Woetzel has received the Harvard Arts Medal. and the inaugural Gene Kelly Legacy Award. In May 2017, Woetzel was named President of the Juilliard School, replacing Joseph W. Polisi. Early life and education Woetzel was originally trained in Boston at E.
